The whole queer umbrella thing making an uncomfortable comeback is similar to me to the "people of color" thing. I can never bring myself to describe a person as "having color" or being a "person of color". It just seems so wrong on a fundamental level, and it also turns the world back into white and other categories. There is no such thing as people of color... There are people with different ethnicities and varying skin tones. Sometimes you can have two people from the same culture having vastly different skin tones. Does this make one a person of color and the other not??
