I hate trannies and I agree it should be a place where people can actually TALK and DISCUSS, but that's not what happens, and I can use that as an example. I can't say I hate trannies anywhere, not in the U.S. and not on sites mostly of U.S. residents. Because what happens is then the responses are nothing but heaps of what is basically verbal abuse (name-calling, insults, and death and rape threats) and demands that I allow trannies to rape me because lesbians should accept "girl dick." How is that a discussion at all? Then they threaten to doxx. That's also not a discussion.

Then subs that say, well, we should at least allow trannies and their enablers to have their positive say about them in every sub - then they infiltrate lesbian subs, take it over, push out actual lesbian moderators, and turn what used to be lesbian groups entirely into tranny subs that are not at all welcoming to lesbians.

Wash and repeat with any other group of people. There's no way Americans have discussions about opinions anymore, and it's probably not going to happen on this website, either. Because as soon as a person has an opinion it turns into one side bullying the other until they get total control and attempts to erase the other.

Why are lesbians so angry?

probably because MEN have invaded their spaces IRL and kicked them out of their own subreddits? just a guess. i'd be pissed too.

You call the people that run Reddit men, that's really reaching.

Well, "I hate trannies" does not promote any discussion; it's just airing an emotion. It's not even an opinion, really. People can see that and are going to respond appropriately.

If it's discussions you want, talk about the problems you have with "trannies" (as you've done here). Maybe put the hatred part at the end of the post if you want a productive discussion (or leave it out entirely unless it's a space to discuss emotions). If you start off with emotions, it's not odd or inappropriate that people respond with emotions. And really, using "tranny" (a slur) and then complaining about people verbally abusing you? I'm not even sure you are serious.

I agree with your sentiment here. I think it's best to let every radical and rational discuss however they want to discuss. They deserve a safe place to vent, debate.. Whatever...just as much as you or I.

People will hate black people, jews, white women.. There's no stopping it. Just let them have their platform. That's what comes with free speech, after all. If you continue to censor these kinds of opinions, the people will just find another place to belong.

I feel like when the common denominator between people is their hate for another group of people or whatever, things just won't have a pretty ending. Like take the person below us who "hates trannies", cool, they are entitled to their opinion and all, but hate and fear uniting people just always causes more division.

When these attitudes find themselves to front of SaidIt way more often than on other platforms, entire SaidIt will look like a hateful place while that's not even true. I think speech like that should definitely be protected and not censored, but maybe it has a place on a different sub that's not the front page.

Hate towards anyone is always just divisive, and ultimately, is hate towards the self. A nation divided against the self won't stand. Look at Reddit. They hate anyone who doesn't agree with them, and now it's turning into a shitshow.

Creates division, but do you really want to be united with these groups?

We do not and want to be left alone as we view separation to be much more beneficial to us than the alternative.

You seem to take it for granted that most people who join this site are sincere about having real productive discussions. The fact is that "free speech" is a rallying cry of bigots, and many of the people on Saidit will fit that description. A real discussion with a bigot is not likely to happen. There is no way to productively discuss arbitrary feelings of hate, disgust, etc. towards a demographic group; people just end up discussing dog whistles and empty, fallacious justifications for the bigotry. The bigots ignore arguments, insult other posters, switch to new bullshit arguments, etc., with no end in sight, because they don't really give a shit about whether what they are saying is true, accurate, sensible, or coherent.

The world would actually be better if people just openly admitted, "I hate X group" and left it at that instead of trying to hide it and/or justify it with all these bullshit "discussions;" people can clearly see there is little or nothing to discuss about "I hate..." and will be less likely to waste their time. Let there be venting spaces separate from discussion spaces.

And there it is, folks.

"I disagree with what you say but will defend to the death your right to say it" said no vegan dyke ever.

Vegan dyke is salty because the trannies took her safe space so now vegan dyke is demanding that Saidit pander to her fragile sensibilities.

You mean have a civilized discussion and be open minded enough to agree to disagree? What a concept! You and the people like you are the reason I love Saidit. I hope this can remain a space for rational discussion, sincere questions and honest answers, where we can respectfully disagree and maybe learn something.

Wise words, EpsteinIsHung.

Free speech was removed, because people were using it as weapon against others, and had zero respect for the free speech they were using. And also because cabal buttpirates don't like free speech.

It was pitched as free speech, but I don't think it would be fair to call it free speech to begin with. Issue with free speech is that misinformation spreads like wildfire, not-so-benevolent actors can manipulate the narrative with upvotes and other strategies, and it renders the "free speech", not actually free speech even if there's no censorship.

I don't have the answers. I just wish people stopped being assholes and started viewing each other as extensions of themselves.
