Thanks for the post. Here's your share of the paid shill money beep boop. /s

No, I'm not a bot or getting paid to post here, just a politically moderate human being. We exist!

I just miss when I could do things on the internet without the politics, honestly. But now that I think about it, that time is so far gone it's like I've forgotten how. I don't even know what to do with myself anymore, and I'm not even sure if that's because of my life in general or the direction the internet took. Possibly both.

There was always politics to some degree. Especially post-9/11.

To me, the thing that changed is we went from being able to argue and disagree and have a beer afterwards to arguing and going after each other's real lives. The moment the psychos stopped letting it be a conversation and turned it into threats to destroy people's lives for disagreeing (or just silence them altogether) was the moment it stopped being fun to argue on the Internet.

The internet is the modern public forum. Those of us that grew up with it as a mainstay in our lives now use it as such. Some of us are retarded though and we don't have a Praetorian Guard to stop fuck faces from running amok among civil argument.
