Check out /all/new and /all/comments! There is a new feature where subs taken off of /all are also now blocked from /all/new and /all/comments

Hello everyone!

/u/d3rr just made a wonderful new feature for saidit, that people have been asking about for a while.

Now subs that are removed from /all (as per mod rule 4b, because the sub censors users and/or removes content high on the pyramid of debate) those subs are also now automatically removed from /all/new and /all/comments.

So this should make the new and comments pages more fun and inviting to browse, which in turn should help the front page. You can check them out by hitting the 'new' or 'comments' tabs on the main page. Or, here are the direct links to those pages:

Please check them out! Especially /all/new, which is a great place to find new content to bring to the front page with an upvote. A lot of content gets missed in the /new page and never sees the light of day, so hopefully this will help fix that. We hope this can increase the diversity of information found on the front page as well, by making the /new page more accessible.

And of course, please remember that if you see any sub on either of those pages that you don't want to see, just hit the "mute sub" button under any post from that sub. You can go to the sub to unmute it later if you made a mistake. Shape your /new feed to your liking, and help create the front page of saidit with your upvotes.

But what if you want a view with actually all the subs?

You could subscribe to every sub and then view your subscribed page

This however forces you to subscribe to all the subs. What if you want to see all the subs but you don't want to subscribe to all because you are just browsing/shopping. Maybe a s/every/new and s/every/comments would be helpful. Those would display everything, even those from subs that do censor, while s/all would remove those censored subs...

Yes that would be a nice feature, I agree. But it is more work and we are stretched thin. Perhaps someday we can have something like that. If someone wanted to code such a feature from our open source: https://github.com/libertysoft3/saidit

we would definitely add that feature to the main code on the website

Alright, I took the last hour to subscribe to the more recently created 1100 subsaidits.
I'll continue working on that when I get home.

Also I want to announce d3rr made a change to /top as well, which makes it load much more quickly. Sometimes /top would timeout, and take 30+ seconds. Now it loads just as fast as any other page. Thanks d3rr

Is there a list of all subs that are not on s/all?

They're all still listed on the sub browser.

You can sort by new or popular and it shows every sub on the site, nothing is hidden on this list.

    Isn’t this helping prevent that? It makes it so subs that censor opposing view points don’t get to show up on /all.

    Nah it was creating a problem where no one was browsing /new and it was leading to a situation where our front page was becoming increasingly inorganic because normal people weren't browsing /new because it was a trainwreck
