In regards to Abu Ghraib, you're the one who started it by bringing up Tiananmen out of nowhere. Who said I support all the actions of the CCP?

Being able to openly discuss these issues is the point I've been making, a luxury being curtailed on media platforms and obviously banned in China.

I don't support China's censorship of speech, neither do I support Americans censorship of speech. Pointing out that Americans are doing this is not whataboutism, since Reddit, the subject of the thread, is owned by them.

That master would be "the truth". China is not censoring Reddit.

That's like saying the NBA censored the Houston Rockets' Daryl Morey after he tweeted about HK because the NBA doesn't care about human rights or the fate of HK. They just care about the money more.

It's obvious that the NBA didn't want to inflame the CCP mission to crush HK independence because it would cost them money. Tencent is not an investor in the NBA, yet they kowtow to the CCP and throw human rights under the bus. Point of OP was allowing the CCP to invest in Reddit opens them to criticism. Don't know why you'd dismiss that as a conspiracy and flatly state CCP doesn't censor Reddit.

Your pointing out that Americans also censor doesn't get the CCP off the hook, hence why I callout your aims as you continue to make these false equivalencies in order to avoid saying admitting that the CCP has a history of censorship and money is influence.

What's your proof of CCP censoring Reddit? Why haven't they turned r/China into a pro-CCP sub? Why is r/HongKong anti-CCP with a top post promoting a revolution? If they're in control they're doing an awful job of censoring... and what's with the fixation on some Chinese people owning 5%? Why does nobody care who the owners of the other 95% are and what their intentions may be?

After more digging, I see that tencent invests in a ton of US companies, like Tesla etc... you're right that if there is evidence of CCP influence in Reddit, other than individual users, I don't really see it. Maybe Sino banning trolls and the odd Wuhan virus subs that got quarantined.

Mostly just admins crushing free speech now to go mainstream media.
