You know what made reddit shitty? It wasn't the dev team (they were shitty too), it wasn't the website flaws, and it wasn't the banwave of censorship. It was the people. It was you guys.

Our sub (r/barefootandpregnant) was the least offensive sub on Reddit. We got trolled, attacked and threaten constantly with deletion. Over and over again we had to prove there was no hate or supremacy in the sub. Barefoot and pregnant was just a bunch moms talking about babies, husbands and recipes.

We got accused of:

  • Hatred against minorities but they lost because one of our mods is a minority.
  • Hatred against Jews but the sub creator is an Orthodox Jew
  • Hatred against gays but we pointed out that we're only discussing natural conception
  • Hatred against women but all us mods are women

Eventually we configured automod to make it that ALL posts and comments required moderator approval. Shortly after that we got 100s of posts filled with white supremacy propaganda, anti-homosexual and later a small amount child porn. Fortunately, because everything needed approval none of it was in the actual sub.

More or less it's a tradwife sub. Personally, I just can't get over the hostility towards a group of women that want to talk about babies, cooking, marriage, etc.

I can understand why people have a hard time with the idea, just like I can understand why people have a hard time understand getting their heads around why a bunch of men want to get to get ahold of her and talk about men's stuff. But they all need to get over their selves

Literally that's it. You can imagine the feels they got from a sub with a name like that. It's offensive, regardless of the content. In fact if the content is innocent it's even worse.

They tried to ban us several times. We were actually once banned for several hours but we won on that one. It was latter made very clear to us that we were not welcome to be on reddit and that the 1st time we make a mistake the sub would be gone.

What can I say? Reddit is anti-traditional people, anti-nuclear family and anti-heterosexual. The fact that many of us want to be housewives and stay at home mothers and married to XY chromosome males must have been terrifying to them. Unfortunately, it's extremely difficult getting subscribers to our sub on saidit.
