Yeah some vhs-tape-style distortion would look good I bet

Nice that's awesome! I'm adding it to my wallpaper pool, well done.

The only way I could possibly think of to improve it, would be to add a few obvious VHS tracking-error-like distortion lines. A bit of left-right warping and light static across a narrow vertical band like this: https://forum.videohelp.com/attachments/4663-1292117477/frame56.jpg

Or another (more extreme) example: https://mediaarea.net/_/img/QCTools/image64.jpg

That'd really lock in the VHS effect, along with the subtle and uniform VHS lines/static you've already added

Lol I actually did 2 versions with the VHS distortion effect you're talking about. One was okay but made it illegible. The other effect really needs to be apart of a full motion video otherwise it looks off.

I currently got a phone wallpaper with the "okay" VHS effect on it. Phone backgrounds don't really need to be legible ;)

Ah yeah I wouldn't do it over the logo, but just in the dead space below or above the logo maybe. Maybe you're right it needs to be in a video to look right.

Sounds like a cool wallpaper. It's a neat style. Anyway, nice wallpaper! :)
