I voted. I'm old school and prefer to do most of my online activity from a desktop.

Unable to vote with a VPN but I use a tablet.

Same. I didn't expect it to, but somehow it detected my relatively unknown VPN. Maybe it would work if I used another branch of it rather than its Swedish one. I usually browse on mobile because RedReader is an amazing app and the official SaidIt app is based on it, but occasionally browse on desktop too.

To set SaidIt to load fresh comments, one must merely modify the source code to be able to do so, most likely by merging the very new commit from several days ago (or maybe a couple weeks ago?) that allowed RedReader to do the same, and probably all the other commits too, hopefully then merging all those merges into the main repository for the SaidIt app so that others can take advantage of them as well. The current SaidIt app is forked from a very old version of RedReader, so doesn't include that feature yet or even a lot of the features much older than it, like the automatic muting of videos played. I plan to merge many of the changes myself at some point, if no one else gets to them first.

The current feature to reload everything by default actually annoys me a lot, as it makes loading comments take a couple seconds instead of loading them near-instantly, and also automatically tries to load a non-working version when Reddit is down instead of using the cached version. I wish there was a way to disable it or make it a bit more sane, but unfortunately, no such option exists yet.

    Nice poll!

And the next question... of the people using their phones, how many are using the app, vs just going to saidit.net in their phone browser (which is what I personally prefer)?

Oh I didn't think of that haha. I'm a browser kind of guy, I like an app that let's me go to all websites instead of one website lol.

Yeah I personally don't use the app, but it has over 5000 downloads so I guess some people find it useful

Lotta phone. In reality most platforms would be better served by putting emphasis on mobile clients.

Very happy to see all this new activity here the last few days. Great!

Curious as to what the "other" is.

Same, and I made the poll haha

I only use my phone because that's all I have. I downloaded the app but didn't like the way you vote on it so I just go to my browser.
