See the rules for moderators, linked on the site Terms & Content Policy at the bottom.

SaidIt was designed hoping to correct some of the problems the creators saw with Reddit, which included mods banning people inappropriately for ideological reasons.

4a) Mods cannot remove user comments that are both in good faith and on-topic.

4b) Mods CAN remove opposing opinions that are high on the pyramid of debate, and ban those users on that sub, if and only if the 2 following conditions are met: 1: The fact the sub removes opposing opinions is announced in the sub's sidebar. 2: The mods uncheck the sub setting "allow this sub to appear on /all"

So unless a sub is compliant with mod rule 4b, the mods sub shouldn't be able to remove your comments unless they're dragging down the pyramid of debate. It doesn't seem like dragging down to respond to an insult with insults, imo.

Completely agree. An insult isn't an attempt at a debate, so it doesn't seem like someone should have to respond with a polite comment. And rule 4b clarifies everything. And why they were wrong. Thanks for posting that.
