It might be helpful to have better searching and sorting tools. For example, one person might want to filter out memes , while another person actually wants to see memes. One person might want to not see anything about Trump, while another person wants to see everything Trump related. I'm keeping this comment somewhat open-ended because I'm curious about how others might solve these kinds of goals.

This goal is probably not the highest priority right now due to the generally low traffic, but could differentiate the website as it grows.

Saidit needs a better block feature that shows when users are blocked. For example, when a blocked user responds to a comment an automatic response should be created that indicates that there wont be a reply because they are blocked.

Most Reddit users never block anyone, and would never use such a feature.

You're thinking backwards - you're thinking about what you would like to see. That's not the question. What features would get current Reddit users to flock to Saidit?

Trolling is the act of deliberately provoking angry responses using subtle linguistic techniques in order to avoid dealing with arguments. It is most often associated with narcissism and the techniques employed are called narcissistic abuse. The only thing that can counter narcissistic abuse is to ignore the narcissist. The blocking feature would be perfect for this if the narcissist could see they were blocked (not giving a narcissist attention drives them insane).

Sigh. That isn't a feature that will lure people to Reddit. Please stay on topic!

That's a feature that YOU want because you block others and get blocked all the time!

So you’re just going to troll me in regards to trolling. Well that’s me leaving saidit then. Bye. BTW, it’s not Zionism causing problems around the world, it’s Americanism, the nation that wants to declassify narcissism as a mental health disorder because it’s so prevalent.

I've liked a bunch of your posts so far, but since you just left you'll never read this. Oh well.

I literally said let's talk about features that will bring people to Saidit, and you wouldn't engage with the topic at hand. I feel completely justified in staying on topic. You want to talk about the definition of trolling, create your own topic.

I think you're right, if you block someone, they might just follow you around, trolling and spamming, so the incentive to block is somewhat low. I have almost never blocked anyone on Reddit, since I joined around the time of the Digg migration.

No. I don't think any notification should be sent to the blocked user.

Saidit needs an anti astroturfing feature. For example, create hashes of IP addresses when a user logs in and show these hashes underneath usernames.

That's not what normies care about. People won't flock to a Reddit alternative for such features.

Yes they will. Astroturfing is a huge and well known, but not well understood, problem. People that use multiple accounts in a specific thread are also engaging in narcissistic abuse. A feature that shows users which users are doing this doesn’t prevent them from doing it, it just shows when they’re doing it.

The lack of mob rule that can censor and prevent a person from posting, which is done by downvoting the person to hell, simply because the person gave an opinion.
