Actually there is already an uncheck all option in the user preferences for people who want to do the subscriptions normal style.

The default subs are just all subs. We did this because saidit has few enough posts at the moment we don't want anybody missing any. Hopefully this covers the functionality you all were looking for.

I know, but it was something to do with the sign up process, so it kind of just flows logically for the new user, they don't have to find a customization section, they can just have it off the bat!

Nothing more than a suggestion!

Ah I see what you mean. I suppose we could just show the user preferences page right after the account is created, so it would flow like that. Not a bad idea.
