To be honest, I can't figure out how to block a sub

The 'mute sub' link only shows on the /s/all feed, because that's all it filters. It's a small link on every post, it shows after 'hide'. If you click into a post, it does not show there.

Did you try going to /s/all and muting the subs you don't want?

It will disappear just the one post but with a refresh of the page all posts from that sub will be gone.

Do you think this is worth adding to the FAQ?

I love your idea: Beside/below the "subscribe/unsubscribe" button it would be nice to have a "mute/unmute" button too.

    Under every single post you should see:
    3 comments | save | hide | mute sub | report

    Just like under all these comments you see:
    permalink | save | parent | report| reply

    Plus some more options if you are the author.

      Actually it's because for a long time we had a service where everyone was automatically subscribed to all subs, because the community was so small we didn't want things getting lost in people's feeds. But now people only auto-subscribe to a list of the best subs for their home page.

      we did decide to hide the sub from r/all for this reason so IP2 should not come up if you go to r/all top or hot tab.

      dont think its possible for r/new though

      It would be great if the block button was right next to subscribe in a given sub. Filtering out stuff you might consider garbage would be nice. I don't want subs like that banned, I just don't want to see their filth.
