FYI, I want to thank you for "liberating" /s/Canada too. The original mod eventually showed back up and was just fine with it. Now there are many mods of /s/Canada.

Never went to gamersriseup when I was in reddit would you mind giving a run down of exactly what your community is for people like me? And I wanna hear it from the horses mouth not what reddit is saying. Excited you guys made the jump, even if it was sorta forced upon you.

Just to clarify, we're not officially making the move yet, and probably won't if we can't get the rights to the name.

But anyways, we're, well, an edgy satire sub. I'm sure you know our most popular jokes, but on reddit we were actually one of the most diverse, good-willed (We seemed to be the only ones NOT brigading at times), welcoming subs I've seen. Our sub isn't at all mainly consisting of the alt-right (Hell, I'm not even close to right-winged myself), and we're against all the unironic racism/homophobia and such, we ban it when we see it. It's a community full of unexpectedly amazing people, and one I'm proud to be a part of, let alone running it :)

TL;DR We're just some edgy fucks who want to be left alone at this point, and have some fun with each-other in this shithole of a life we all have before it's too late.

You would have to remove posts and comments based on the pyramid of debate. Is that something you are ok with?

Due to the fact that serious discussion wouldn't exist on the sub, I don't see it being a problem.

I'm no authority, but in addition to the rules are a FAQ and unwritten rules. I like my edgy stuff but there is no universal definition of what edgy is or isn't nor what's acceptable or not. Edge bleeding over into the general vibe has caused issues in the past. I doubt this needs to be said but I welcome you as a SaidItizen and I implore you, as community leader, to convey to your folks that their edgy culture is welcome to be contained within the sub (and those like-minded). It's seemed to have worked here for the most part, IMO, so far as I know.

As I've said in other threads, we were always one of the contained communities that had no history of doing such things. However, we do know what it's like to be on the receiving end of it.

Honestly I didn't go there frequently either, but here goes. It was supposed to be for making fun of gamers who are racist. What they did was make memes out of it and 13/50 happened a lot, to which people spammed "NIGGER" in comment chains in the replies. That's all it was. Then people theorized that all the racist shitposting attracted actual racists and tried to get it banned, which was eventually successful after allegedly posting illegal images on the sub.

Welcome. Having an inactive mod doesn't restrict anyone from posting though... the community isn't inactive because of the mod, it's inactive because no one posts there. If there are a lot of posts, and a mod is actually needed, then I will consider appointing one. Until then, just post as you want to! Build the community you want to see, an inactive mod isn't going to hurt anything.

The fact that we aren't able to moderate the sub is an extreme problem though, due to the amount of spam we'd be receiving. In fact, we've had multiple subs with members in the 100,000s try to shut us down, again and again. They have a surprisingly long attention span.

And there's definitely going to be more than a lot of posts if we make this official, we have thousands of members posting daily on other platforms, and regarding saidit, it's all on the down low right now. We wish there's another way, but looking to our past results, we need someone who can handle the 1000s of posts, and the current mod, well, ain't exactly doing it.

Yeah, there's a problem with that. People create an account, create subsaidits, and then forget about the site. There are so many abandoned ones. And anything that's not a default subsaidit (subscribed on account creation) will never get any audience or pull. You can work for six months posting relevant content faithfully and end up with 44 subscribers.
