  • Top of the Sub:

What is it: Top of the Subs aka 'TotS' would be a sorting tab (like hot/new/funny/top) where the (lets go with) 5 (for now) top articles of every sub are displayed. This would also be sorted then like top, so the different sub-stories are mixed. So if you had a long day, you can get an easy overview.

  • New on the Subs

What is it: New on the Subs aka 'NotS' would be a sorting tab like like hot/new/funny/top/TotS) where the (lets go with) 3 (for now) top articles of every sub are displayed. This would also be sorted then like new, so the different sub-stories are mixed. So if someone is dumping their music library you can visit this tab as still see other posts that are new.

These sound pretty good. So it's about giving every sub a fair shake and not letting popular subs overwhelm hot and new and top, on /s/home * and /s/all and /s/subscribed ? For the time range, it could use the "links from" filtering, and you could pick "past 24 hours".

Exactly!

Because there may be good links out there in subs you are not subscribed to and these could be a way to discover them (and discover new subs to subscribe to).

For now it's still okay to be subbed to all, so more a future thing.
