Reports only go to mods, not admins, and if the mod is the offensive author then...

I didn't know that, that makes a big difference.

Because it's false. Jason is making up crap and then speaking with authority for basically no reason. Reports go to both mods and admins.

[–]FormosaOolong 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (15 children)

Good to know, that's what I had presumed before today. I think Jason genuinely misunderstood and was not trying to spread falsehoods.

[–]magnora7 7 insightful - 3 fun7 insightful - 2 fun8 insightful - 3 fun -  (14 children)

I know, but he "genuinely misunderstands" so frequently and then speaks with authority that it's constantly creating administrative messes and misunderstandings that I have to clean up, and it's exhausting. Months and months of this.

Even if it is unintentional, it has caused me an awful lot of headaches over the last few months. It's the long-term pattern of doing this that makes me frustrated, not just this one instance.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (13 children)

Your claims are unfounded. I demand extensive examples of these exhausting clean up instances to prove there's a pattern, or a retraction and apology.

Further, these are same unproven claims you made in the summer (in the one and only post in the formerly-locked /s/HolocaustSkepticism where without warning you explosively unleashed a list of many false and exaggerated claims upon me.)

I don't know what this "authority" you go on about now or then. I've NEVER claimed to be an authority on anything (aside from animation and some hobbies), much less on SaidIt. I have my experiences and opinions and I suppose I'm an authority over those, but little else. I try to use "IMO" often to clarify that it's just my opinion, as is the case with most of my statements.

" Months and months of this ", yet you say nothing to me. From the summer explosion until a month ago you did not comment on a single thing I said, even when I was cheerfully chiming in my 2 cents on your posts and comments. Allegedly, " it has caused me an awful lot of headaches over the last few months " - yet I heard nothing about this at all from you.

I still have no idea what I did to rub you the wrong way, other that try to be helpful to SaidIt, and be a dynamic interesting person who contributes to this community, honestly and authentically, warts and all.

drama queen

I don't know what this "authority" you go on about now or then.

And you never tell people what the rules are, and how they should be enforced according to you as if it is true.

or "what was wrong with broadcasting my sexual deviance all over the place and not shut up about it at all"? that's dynamic and interesting and i'm not a drama queen faggot at ALL

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

The FAQ and the rules are real, so ya, they are true. And if the 2 admins can't catch all the down-sliding then the community has to step in to help them. Otherwise the options are this: 1) SaidIt slides, 2) they recruit help, a likely burden financially, or 3) take on ads or sell out so they can afford the assistance they need. Seems fair that the community make an effort.

If you hate sexual deviance so much, why do folks like you post all the shit about trannies, cucks, incels, freaks, and deviants? I'd think you'd want to avoid it being waved in your faces. I suspect you love that rage porn.

That posters entire reason for existence appears to be to irritate anyone else he/she comes across. The account history is an embarrassment to this website, and the repulsive clown that posts garbage like that. At some point, the Admins will hopefully have had enough. Triple boob invaded my sub and created a post to call me a liar - which was itself a lie- and then bothered magnora endlessly about being banned. A repulsive, ridiculous waste of DNA, that one.

Thank you, for saying so.

[–]bobbobbybob 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

see, there you go pretending to have authority again.

Your lack of self awareness won't save you forever. I already told you many times over what the problem is.

[–]JasonCarswell 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

" Your lack of self awareness won't save you forever. "

What does that even mean?

I know what I am to the extent I am able. Yet you won't fill me in on the details of the "lacking" part, as if you even know the full extent what I am ultimately aware of. In large part I chose to be this way, otherwise I would behave differently. If I knew what your grievances were I'd be able to 1) learn about myself, 2) ignore what I already know, or 3) consider/try changing that which offends you, whether I knew about it or not.

I have little to go on other than you seem to vaguely despise my opinions, ideas, and self expression. Perhaps you think some of my constructive ideas about improving SaidIt administration via more open and democratic input are challenges to your leadership and authority. They are not. You still have ultimate veto power and are the decider of what ideas to adopt or not. I'm trying to help you, d3rr, and all of SaidIt.

Is that another threat? How is it saving me now? Is there a ticking clock I'm not aware of? Do I have cancer? Do you have plans for me? More dramatic ambiguity.

" I already told you many times over what the problem is. "

You have complained vaguely many times over, leaving me scratching my head every time. If you had clearly expressed what the problem is, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

I want specific details, and not another arbitrary list full of lies and exaggerations. Or I want an apology. At the very least just drop it and save yourself - and SaidIt - from looking worse. You are much much better than this.

[–]magnora7 2 insightful - 3 fun2 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 3 fun -  (5 children)

If you had clearly expressed what the problem is, we wouldn't be having this discussion.

This is the last time I will state it.

You need to stop attacking other users. You need to stop anything that even remotely resembles trolling. And you need to stop acting as if you're some sort of admin. Stop giving me and others advice about saidit when you clearly don't know what you're talking about. And if in doubt, don't say anything.

This is what I'm asking of you. Not going to state it again. Act right. You have 2 strikes. We are not revisiting this discussion again, I've said what needs to be said, and all that's left is to see you act appropriately and act with respect toward saidit and the users on saidit. I've given you so much leeway but I don't have infinite tolerance for this type of behavior. The way you act sometimes causes far more problems than it solves, and I think you know that.

Now that that's clear, goodbye. No more discussion is needed.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

" You need to stop attacking other users. "

How about you stop them attacking me and other users? I never attack. I react, and positively with creativity. Go through my history and you'll find that to be accurate.

"_ You need to stop anything that even remotely resembles trolling._ "

You really need to clarify what that actually entails. This vague term with and even vaguer "remotely" added on top could mean virtually anything and be interpreted in any way you see fit - just like the vague nonsense terms of YouTube, etc. I'm not asking for more rules but you could start a list of prime examples and go from there. Yet you won't for some reason.

" And you need to stop acting as if you're some sort of admin. "

What does this even mean? HOW? I've never claimed to be any sort of admin, and I don't know "how I'm acting" as such, especially when you refuse to provide clear examples.

" Stop giving me and others advice about saidit when you clearly don't know what you're talking about. "

Why are others permitted, even welcomed, to offer good, bad, and ugly advice (example1, example2) while I am not? Why don't you just decline or ignore my suggestions?

I'm far from perfect like anyone, including you, so we all make mistakes. But I'd hardly say that I "clearly don't know what [I'm] talking about" when I clearly do on many things, including my opinions and experiences.

" And if in doubt, don't say anything. "

Is that a new slogan? "SaidIt: don't say anything." Q: What happened to civil discussion? A: It was sacrificed for intolerant trolls for unspoken reasons and I'd tell you about it but I can't say anything.

" This is what I'm asking of you. Not going to state it again. Act right. "

I want to abide, and I will continue to try, but you have not explained how I'm acting "wrong" or even remotely come close to any definition, for myself and for others. Thus the chaos continues, with or hopefully without me.

" You have 2 strikes. We are not revisiting this discussion again, I've said what needs to be said, and all that's left is to see you act appropriately and act with respect toward saidit and the users on saidit. I've given you so much leeway but I don't have infinite tolerance for this type of behavior. "

So you've said, though without sufficient clarity. It's your site, that is clear, and of course it's your prerogative. We may not revisit this discussion but it's far from resolved until I clearly understand you.

IMO, I've been respectful and challenge anyone to (waste their time trying to) find me this so-called abundance of examples where I haven't been.

" The way you act sometimes causes far more problems than it solves, and I think you know that. "

You may think that but it doesn't make it true. I've reached out to others to seek wider perspectives. Most who care don't see the problem and one said I was [unintentionally] swatting a hornets nest [when I was trying to help fix SaidIt].

" Now that that's clear, goodbye. No more discussion is needed. "

It remains far from clear and far from resolved, though I suppose we can agree that we disagree and no further discussion on that is warranted. Nonetheless, I remain open and welcome further discussion and clarity if you were to take the time to think about it, consult friends, or whatever to develop more concrete ideas for me and SaidIt to consider, about my activity or the greater Saidit policies and maybe some examples.

I do apologize about my ugly advice. I thought it was a brainstorming session- my bad. Tried to help but did damage instead. Feel free to ban me if I'm too much of a nuisance. I think saidit is fine and not trying to mess it up.

[–]JasonCarswell 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

No need to apologize at all!

In my opinion brainstorming is terrific and valuable towards progress, even bad/ugly ideas help because they may be a temporary marker on a previously undeclared issue, important, critical, or just mild, that needs an even better idea and can sometimes be built upon, and/or with a tweak and a twist, turned into a great idea.

Your example just happened to be fresh in mind and easy to find, as well as a couple others I was too lazy to dig back up. Better still was that you had so many, not all good or bad or ugly - a very nice variety. Not just ugly. Far from it.

Like you, I'm not trying to mess it up either. I don't know what his problem with me is and he doesn't want to explain.

M7 is driving this big old bus and all us kids are going, "Arewethereyet? Arewethereyet? Arewethereyet? Arewethereyet? Arewethereyet?" Or maybe better, we're all going, "How about here? Have you been there? What about over there? And back there!" And he's still free to steer as he sees fit. Yet for some reason was isolating me out, insisting I not say anything on a public forum called "SaidIt", not-ironically.

I hold nothing against you, regardless what transpires, and I hope you don't mind that I used your comment as a handy example that had nothing to do with the quality nor content of your ideas. I can remove the reference link if you prefer. It was about him singling me out without clear explanation.

IMO, brainstorming is a valuable resource not all professions have the luxury of. I've worked as an animator, art director, and director on countless TV commercials, music videos, projects, and even an Oscar winning movie. It's not easy being an animation director, and harder IMO to be a live-action director under compressed time limits. The best manage to balance all the variables among strengths and weaknesses, absorb feedback, delegate tasks, define a clear vision, while maintaining a diverse team spirit to produce something amazing. I can only guess that running a forum is akin to that on some levels and even more intense on others.
