About 2 years ago. We used to be called antiextremes.com way back in the beginning, alluding to avoiding the extremes of voat on one side on the censorship extremes of reddit on the other. There's more info here: https://infogalactic.com/info/SaidIt#Site

We used the name antiextremes for about 6 months before changing names.

A big problem going forward is that saidit is going to become a refuge for banned redditors. But these are going to be the extremists. How can we get more normie content on saidit instead of incels and ice_posideon? I want it to be a respectable place where reddit can't reach. Their censorship is getting worse and worse.

There's the solution to the problem. More centrists will come as reddit gets more extreme with its banning. Saidit is bound to go through multiple cultural shifts as the audience changes and grows.

I'm not an extremist and I recently joined Saidit. Politically, I'm a moderate independent and I score in the center on political compass tests.

The Leftists dominating much of Reddit hate, censor and ban reasonable, credible people as they do anyone else not in lockstep with their narratives.

Now that I'm beginning to trust and appreciate Saidit more, a few days ago I offered a link to it on Reddit, but like you, I'm a little concerned who might show up.

I know that as I increasingly found Reddit unacceptable, I subscribed to r/Banned, r/WatchRedditDie, r/RedditAlternatives and similar subs from which I learned of Saidit, so that's where I reccomended it. I think people who recognize Reddit's problems are probably a good fit, generally.

I left reddit bc it's fucking insulting anymore. Probably was before but I barely used it since conspiracy began to fall to the dark side. I loved reddit when conspiracy outing pieces of shit hit the front page and everybody was like yea fuck you!

Things like the boston bombing didn't help but lmao did officials actually use reddit as their own research? Surprisesed the bad cop no donut isn't banned yet.

Peekay was an actor. I kid you not. He was a controlled opposition and has been featured in the film 'The Knowing' with Nicolas Cage and on variosu Australian game shows.

Plasmaburns is a real researcher who has exposed every player involved. It took him years to do so, and he still does it today.

etc. This is basically the same indexing system notabug is using to record everything for the mirror. The first one starts at 26 because all the ones before that are bot-generated posts to test out the reddit system. It's a functionality that came with the reddit open source code. If you look at a post before 26 you can see it's garbage snippets of random text, so technically those are the first posts! Fun fact.

It was a test of the takedown system, to see if it worked. The sub is /s/takedowns, specifically for testing it :) I think it's the only thing that's ever been taken down on saidit ever
