Do you have any insight on what reddit was like 11 years ago?

It was pretty cool. I found interesting topics and interesting ideas. After a couple of years, Digg went to shit and the normies came over from Digg and reddit started going to shit. Reddit has become painfully left wing. /r/politics is a left wing shitshow. I say that as a libertarian. Reddit now has Tencent (China) as an investor and is actively trying to stamp out ideas that are not left. These people are hopelessly trapped in their bubble, but I'm finding alternate sites to go to. Saidit is a breath of fresh air. Voat.co was kind of a shitshow as well. On a rare occasion I would find something of value, but the majority of time it was shit.

That's pretty sad, I heard that another old reddit user said that reddit used to be tolerant of differing views and if you said something contrary to the viewpoint of the sub, the worst that will happen is mass downvoting, instead of banning people, someone would try to prove you wrong, although I'm not sure if they were using reddit for 11 years. Also, I've heard that Digg was used before reddit, when did the switch happen?

At least some popular posts are pro-Hong-Kong.
