Yes. It worked for slashdot. Downvotes just allow for brigading by people to censor others as reddit has shown. Our layout is a good design if everyone wants to be heard without being censored. Plus it allows for 2 types of sorting by the type of upvote

    I'm sure it has been answered, but I'm assuming it's a way to sort out the shitposts from the real posts. Not to say shitposts are a bad thing... :P

      It did work. The problem with Slashdot boils down to it being sold and put on autopilot. Back in the day, when there was a "Slashdot Effect", that decision really did work pretty well.

      I was there. Funny, when I even think about posting on /. the meta mod points start to flow... Anyone with a low UID gets no ads, mod points, ass kissed, just for thinking about a comment. Sad.

      Yes, not having a downvote is great. But having your password changed up on you by a bot or something suspicious is not.
