Even simple comments, saying things such as "I don't like this person, they abuse people", or "this movie was bad", are getting censored and labeled as "Potentially Toxic Content". The admins are trying to spin a narrative that it was an "accident", they were testing code for a new "chat room feature", and the code leaked out to the rest of Reddit, however this was proven to be a lie:

"It's adding the .comment.collapsed-for-reason css class to the comments. Chat messages aren't collapsible, and don't have the .comment class to begin with. So, yeah, pretty much no possible chance of that being the real story."

They started to back-peddle and are now silent and aren't responding anymore. The Admins tried damage control and failed, but the thread is still live at the time of this post - the majority of Reddit users aren't having it, left, right or center and are calling Reddit out on their bullshit. Reddit is digging it's own grave, and I'm happy to see it happen. Fuck them.

Reddit's new "Anti-Evil Team" is helping flag "Potentially Toxic Content" (the admin admitted this before the backlash was so large; go through their profile. "The Anti-Evil Team" soon turns into a "bug"):

I love Saidit. Thank you /u/Magnora7 & /u/d3rr, for having a soul.

Cheers. Well said. Reddit has such problems from the admin level to the subreddit moderator level. Just today I got banned from /r/democrats because I was talking negatively (but factually) about Hillary Clinton and the DNC. I simply left about 8 factual statements in a thread, and that was enough for them to permanently ban me from the entire /r/democrats sub, without any warning or recourse. In that moment, I also felt happy saidit exists. It's nice to hear other people like yourself are seeing reddit clearly for what it is, and appreciating the value of saidit. Thank you.

Jesus christ. And everyone wonders why the alt-right is so popular these days.

Yeah I was like "Really?" and then I remembered this is about the 50th time something like this has happened to me.

They really want a hugbox echochamber, and then are surprised when there is backlash to that.

Although in the end that's just another form of divide and conquer, and a way to make the conversation centered around the battling extremists on each side, rather than the ignored silent majority in the middle who can't get a say because the media machinery is typically in the hands of the extremists on one side or the other. It's sad but it's also very interesting that this form of manipulation is brand new on the internet and it's actually working in certain respects. I am glad saidit can be a place with a full-spectrum of ideologies to let the middle majority have their say too.

Magnora7 we on the At right actually like hearing differing opinions. If you check out our subs on reddit, plenty of People try and debate.

All hail Spez and the Atlantic Council. I love China and scarcity and global warming are real. Civility over freedom! The Constitution I just some old document, not relevant at all. Don't click the ban butt...

At this point they're preferable to 'mainstream'. I used to be libertarian/centrist-ish but it's just fucking impossible to have a legit conversation these days in so many places.

    Thanks for the kind words.

FWIW I think there is a such thing as a "live chat thread" and it's not the same as the chat widget/chat rooms. I've never seen a live post, but I've seen some of the old code. Apparently on live pages the comments and scores update automatically like a live javascript app thing.Ref: https://www.reddit.com/r/changelog/comments/1yki7m/reddit_change_some_information_about_live_update/

    Of course, still fuck Reddit.

"and the code leaked out to the rest of Reddit"

I hate when my code 'leaks out' to my other programs.

reddit is an online mental asylum for leftist social justice warriors who spend their days in Mom's basement gaming and chatting to their little cuck buddies.

Imagine being so stupid that you believe the front page of one of America's biggest websites is genuine rather than manipulated content.

Imagine being so stupid you bite your tongue when your opinion goes against the groupthink, so that you don't lose imaginary internet points.

Imagine being so stupid that you believe admins and mods with absolute power wouldn't abuse this power for their own political biases.

We have a name for this level of stupidity: leftist

Deleted my fake accounts, won't be going back.

I don't mean to word police you but you're talking about the far-left SJWs.

Old school leftists (aka progressives, depending who's describing them) aren't like that. Just like alt-right is not NeoCon.

Everything is shifting Left. You are too right wing for those people and anyone Right is now Far Extreme Alt Hyper Ultimate Right. And must be silenced.

IPO in 2020 is "the only responsible choice"

    - Spez

    [–]magnora7 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

...for his pocketbook, and the pocketbooks of the massive number employees they've over-expanded to have. He's basically financially backed himself and the company in to a corner, and is trying to spin it as a moral choice. This is something I very much want to avoid with saidit as we grow

    [–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

That's it, they took money from investors so they are now beholden.

    [–]magnora7 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yes not only that, but they "have to do it" because "so many jobs at reddit depend on it". Many jobs which probably shouldn't even exist in the first place. They've got mouths to feed now, and that creates an apparent moral pressure for CEOs and their profit motive. Reddit has 400+ employees at this point, according to wikipedia. 400 people * 40k salary each = $16 million / year. No wonder they're so hyper-focused on the 2020 IPO. Can you imagine saidit having to cough up $16 million every year?

Whats funny is there are some threads on Reddit where everyone has been deleted, so its like everyone is the same person and they are arguing with themselves. Its like what the theory of 4chan and Anonymous was based around.

    Its eerie.

    [–]magnora7 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah I see comment threads where like 80% of the comments have been deleted by mods... Or when they lock it after it's been open for 1 hour so only certain types of opinions are visible...

And the real bad part of it is mods often only call out the "toxic" stuff that they disagree with, so it becomes biased very quickly.

100%. I made my account here today because I was tired of being flamed for having a relatively centrist point of view, and not succumbing to the whole alarmist-socialist politics that Dedditt loves

This is one of the bests tweets of all time imo, I read it in his voice every time I see it. May not be a popular opinion around here, but I actually appreciate Tyler and his music. He matures musically in a highly noticeable way with each album, and he just says shit like it is and how he feels - there's no filter.
