Easy ways you can help saidit
submitted 4 years ago * by magnora7[A] from (self.SaidIt)
Sometimes people ask me "What can I do to help saidit?" so I created this short list for anyone who is interested:
VOTE - voting shows activity to people who visit saidit, and determines the order of things on the page so it's interesting for others to read. Your vote truly matters here
browse the 'new' tab - sometimes interesting stuff slips by, help be a "knight of /new" and upvote interesting new articles that belong on the front page! Keep in mind you can mute subs here too
comment and vote on comments! - Our community is built from discussion, not just links
donate with patreon or our 8 supported cryptocurrencies
report spam links and things that drag down discussion on the pyramid of debate, using the 'report' button
tell others about saidit - If you see a comment section on another website about people looking for alternatives, mention saidit! Spread the word!

People tend not to be that helpful, but this idea could be implemented in the wiki, with an announcement in the sidebar and a sticky.

We were going to improve some of the language packs, I was discussing the French version with someone here but they never responded: https://saidit.net/s/SaidIt/comments/1ilo/translations_are_halfbroken/
We'd love to improve the saidit language packs if anyone is interested. I just made a sub specifically for that reason: https://saidit.net/s/SaiditLanguagePacks/

Is there a revenue model besides donations?

No.

I do, and will continue to do 5 of theses things. Still trying to suss donating anonymously.

Thanks! The best way to donate anonymously is cryptocurrencies, and I'd say the best one to use is bitcoin cash because of the low transfer fee ($0.0004 compared to bitcoin's $0.80 transfer fee)

Thanks. I get deflated every time I try to look into crypto.

Yeah it can be annoying and confusing at times, it's still in the "early adoption" phase, and the software is very complex and there's no real consensus on the best way to do a lot of minor aspects of it, so the software still can be obtuse.
Honestly the best way is to go to a very mainstream and trusted exchange, and then put money in (often you link the exchange to your bank account or something like this, some exchanges don't even need this) and then buy the crypto you want with your USD. And then once you've bought it you can send it to other people.
This whole process is pretty annoying tbh, but it's getting simpler as they roll out bitcoin ATMs and stuff. The main 4 cryptos are supported most everywhere: bitcoin, bitcoin cash, ethereum, and xrp

Thanks for the tips, will look into it when the synapses are connecting.
Cool, I recommend exchanges like Binance, coinbase, or another popular one like bitmex. Big, established exchanges are generally best.

Links help too of course, but our links to comments ratio could be a little more balanced. :)
use the following search parameters to narrow your results:
e.g. sub:pics site:imgur.com dog
