There is an option to enable in the preferences if you'd like people to see your insightful/fun on your profile. In general I like the idea that votes are private like IRL elections too. If you would further like to publicly add a comment supporting the given content or state your preferences then you are free to do so.

I can see the point you made in your comment about bot manipulation being more visible/obvious though and if you take a look at Twitter for example it can actually help to analyze like and comment pattern between accounts and reveal bot networks with hundreds of thousands of accounts. However you are still reliant on the platform to act on these suspicions faithfully and unbiased which can be difficult to track which means you basically have to trust the platform.

IDK it's a trade off...more privacy for the single account but less ability to uncover suspicious voting behavior and more reliance on the platform acting in good faith. If we look at reddit I even catch myself sympathizing with your proposition because I think the ethics of that company changed dramatically over the time as more and more money got involved. The platform provider can still track and analyze the voting behavior and act on it but honestly I don't trust reddit to do this in an unbiased manner at this point, seeing how they treat different communities on seemingly different standards.

As for saidit: I don't think it is big enough to attract any serious manipulation attempts because it doesn't even remotely reach the same audience to justify the effort but I could be wrong. Right now I guess it's up to the community to discuss the posts and maybe dismiss or point them out if you feel the votes seem off.

Nice analysis here god. One idea that I think I've seen somewhere is having a little votes vs. time graph. so it's anonymized data, but everyone can see if a post/comment got a surge of votes at any point.
