I hope so. We support the people of Hong Kong and any information they wish to put here about what's happening.

Absolutely. Freedom of information should be a fundamental right for everyone.

You should roll out a welcome mat of some sort. Something that flags HKers telling them that we support them. And anything that they want to share, can safely come here.

HKers are waving lots of US flags, lol

reddit is a deepstateshit cia front ... a "guerrilla war" is a political/propaganda war employing face-to-face propaganda indoctrination techniques... all "guerrilla war" goals are to replace the populations "culture", as per cia manuals, and planting "operatives" in every echelon of society is key... !!!

You think everything is a deep state CIA front 🙄

Welp, it was a DARPA project to beign with, so yes. I have come to believe it was a long con, getting us all to give our info even simply by buying things, creating accounts. At first there were promises of privacy, and the ability to maintain some semblance of it -- but look how all that has been eroded and exploited. Look at our dependence on it and our devices.

I remember trying to tell people about Echelon and Carnivore in the late 90s, and the conspiracy-eyerolls I got were many. Those two things look like a game of pre-K tag compared to what is going on now.

Yesterday, on imgur half of the post were about HK/ China. A site that is mainly about funny pictures. Maybe a part of the censoring was about stopping the overload.

Almost no political posts about things that are not in line with US policies. In 2 years one about Yemen, none about the yellow-vests (with deaths). With the minor problems going on in HK, it makes be believe that we are being played with.

Addition: forgot to mention Assange.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tencent has some money invested in Imgur too as another way to exert influence over Reddit.

[–]Tarrock 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Tencent also has deep ties to the chinese government.

[–]Justin[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

They're basically a front for the Chinese government

[–]Reddit_sucks_dick 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

basically

TOTALLY.

I just defected from reddit. Learned about saidit a little while back and decided to test the waters here.

Welcome! Glad to have you here

Let us all wish Reddit a quick trip into obscurity.

[–]happysmash27 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Wait, which subs? This is very bad. I have probably shown some support to them too, or at least will (I subscribed to HongKong).

Let's hope Reddit pulls a Blizzard, and piss people off in the process. :)

A common sense in China: Don't post anything about politics on sites hosted in China.

TenCent invested 150 million dollars in Faggit, and controls Serena Gorilliams' husband like the puppet that he is.

Tencent is awful, if you want to change the font color in their instant messenger called QQ, they need your money, change the outer frame of the profile picture need your money as well.

Hadn't the reddit admins banned voat advertising a while back? I assume they will do the same with saidit.

[–]Justin[S] 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I don't think so, I still see conversations about Voat on there every now and then. I used to go there occasionally a few years ago but it was drifting too much into the alt-right territory for my tastes so I stopped going there. I hope this place doesn't follow suit.

[–]idkwhatimseeking 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The thing is.. is you can't make it a blatant advertisement. You got to casually drop the name.

[–]Tarrock 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

I wrote my senator twice this last week, the recent one requesting an investigation into Chinese election meddling via social media.

[–]Tarrock 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Maybe, but I'd like to try to be the change I want in this world.

I just want the world to be hit by a giant comet

I'm new to saidit, just came over here for this very reason.
