Lots of people moved here from reddit, especially the ice poseidon guys. More attention and users = more improvements

That, and also the recent hack made us have to re-evaluate some design choices, which got us making other changes too.

Yeah it's coming soon, couple weeks at most. It will only affect new user accounts though. If you wish to unsubscribe from all subs and create your own list, there is an 'unsubscribe from all' button in the user preferences, and also a setting to set your home page to 'subscribed'. This will make it similar to reddit. But we're probably going to make this the default setup for new users in about a week.

Please don't do this. Please implement sub muting first. Part of the joy of Saidit is new stuff on home.

Change your front page to 'subscribed' in your user preferences and then unsubscribe from the subs you dislike

I already unsubscribed from everything and subscribed to a few so that I can just see those on my subscribed tab,

What you are suggesting makes the home and subscribed tabs the same. Which isn't the idea.

Yeah, but it solves the problem for you until we actually switch things over, which may be a couple weeks because we are doing our new server setup first

Also as it is, 'home' is just /all with /s/ads removed (which no one uses) so you aren't losing much by losing 'home'. We are going to rework this system now that saidit is big enough, we'll probably do away with 'home' altogether and just have 'all' and then 'subscribed' as the default main page.

seems like a bad move to me. I love to see new subs. unless you add muting, the spam subs will dominate any 'all' space
