Funny thing. I was looking for a non-religious image for my "New Religion". This image came up on DuckDuckGo's limited image search. I wasn't sure until after I posted it that it was Burning Man. Further, I didn't know that two of my paintings are in the background. What look like a distant wall are actually the backs of the seats in Center Camp at Burning Man, in 2008. The red sunny day and blue cloudy night I'd painted a few years earlier when all those seats were newly assembled.

Of the main organizers of the Balinese Monkey Chants, a couple were my housemates in 2005 when the went to Bali for the International Gamelan Festival. I witnessed them do it sooo many times I lost count, yet it never got boring.

TRUTHERISM

Is the name of this religion.

What is this religion? You tell me.

Can we get tax exemption? We can try.

Can we prevent being infiltrated and corrupted? We can try.

Can we get powerful like many religions big and small? We can try.

Can we use it like judo to spin and pivot against oppressive forces? We can try.

2019-02-19 will be the launch date and 19 will be our month-aversary (unless there's some stupid weird occult meaning in that number). This is the year of Trutherism.

I wanna hear your ideas about it.

(Also, can we get neat costumes, or at least a kewl hat? No foil.)

19 is a very auspicious number for a religion, since it is represented by the Sun in the Marseille Tarot. Its meaning is to shed light on things, and uses its intelligence benevolently to direct and protect those under it.
