My encounters with homeschooled people predate you by a long shot, and similarly my low opinion of homeschooling was formed long ago, however, it continues to be reinforced.

Fake.... fuck you, it's not fake. You're a fan of sociology, why would you not want to apply sociology to practical use? People respond better if you go about your interactions a certain way, it doesn't have to be false or insincere.
