"You aren't owed anything" is another one. But apparently they are owed everything. Even something as small as a tax exemption for tampons. But when we despair that we can't experience the single most important thing in life - a loving relationship - we're "entitled." This word has no meaning coming out of their mouths. If a relationship is a "special privilege," which is what being "entitled" to something means, then they are admitting that they are very privileged and we are not. And they should check that privilege.
