I'd like to meet more grounded and mature transgender individuals than ones who're treating the identity and label of transgender as either a fetish or a trait.

Hey /u/TheAmeliaMay you wanna make a friend?

Sure!

There are two kinds of science fiction story with a sex change MacGuffin.

One story is set in the far future, with nano-technology, or transporter technology. Scotty energizes the transporter and you get scanned into the pattern buffer. Dr McCoy does some computational medicine on your bits in the computer, changing you from male to female. Finally you get beamed to your destination as a real woman with two X-chromosomes.

A different story has some kind of disaster. Perhaps a fault in the transporter. You are beamed down to the planet. When you left the Enterprise you were a woman, but when you arrive you are a man; a woman trapped in a man's body. Another kind of disaster to get the story started is that you die. No biggy, you just get a new body printed out and imprinted with your mind, restored from a back-up. Oh no! Although you are a woman, only a man's body is available. You take it anyway; it is better than staying dead.

Modern transgenderism seems to treat the first kind of story are real already. Transgenders seek to enjoy a technological transformation. This seems unwise and ill judged. Perhaps you will be able to change your sex in 2321, but the technology isn't here yet.

The second kind of story is the kind that is relevant. Some kind of disaster. You are a woman trapped in a man's body. There is no escape. How do you make the best of it? Maybe the woman part of your life is over, you just have to adapt to being a man.

People can have gender dysphoria, but it is not 2321 yet. The only sane way to proceed is to picture yourself as the protagonist of the second kind of story. Does anybody even have to know about your personal disaster?

The problem really is modern transgenderism — or more accurately: liberal transgenderism. LGBT Conservatives tend to act much better than LGBT Leftists.

Perhaps you will be able to change your sex in 2321, but the technology isn't here yet.

Most transgender folks don't think they can change their sex — it's usually cisgender Liberals who say crap like that (and usually only on the Internet) — and a lot of us, including me, don't want SRS.

I don't know how you're define "sex." Most transgender people who want a "sex change" just wants SRS, which means a fake vagina or penis.

Very few actually want to be able to sexually reproduce as the opposite sex (especially transgender women, for obvious reasons).

Pretty much no one wants to change their chromosomes, since there ain't really a reason to — they affect how your body develops, but I don't think changing them would suddenly change all your physical traits.

The only sane way to proceed is to picture yourself as the protagonist of the second kind of story. Does anybody even have to know about your personal disaster?

Your story says she's a real woman who got put in a man's body, so why should she be forced to behave like a man? Can she not live her life as she always have, but just adapt it to her new anatomy?

I think that your last line is what GenderCritical folk preach. Get rid of gender stereotypes. Let people be gender non-conforming. Then some-one in a man's body can be who they really are, whoever that really is; no questions asked.

I've known two transgendered people in my life and they were both nuts and suffered from serious mental issues. One of them used to be a somewhat famous Youtube comedian before going trans. Ironically, they would both hit on me almost constantly, which was always a trip. It's never actual women that hit on me, of course, only gays and trannies.

Anecdotal, but it's very clearly a mental illness, and now that these people are supported and accepted rather than given the mental help they need, naturally, many are going to be quite out there and some may actually be quite dangerous, like the Youtube tranny who was often sexually aggressive when inebriated, not just to me, but to females as well. Just an all around mess.

I'm transgender and not an SJW, so maybe you'll like me.

posted here because Reddit don't like it when you talk shit about their favorite crowd

Reddit's partially owned by the CCP's Tencent, which should tell you all you need to know about why it's become a censorship cesspool.

r/Neoliberal thinks I'm a Fascist for some reason, LOL! I never posted there, but SJWs have a tendency to sniff out stuff to get offended at. These same people would call me a Communist, if I started talking about codetermination, though.

While I'm normally fine with transgenders as a whole, I'm not fine with the ones who are such a whirlwind of indecisiveness and of destructive qualities to themselves and others around them.

As a transgender woman, I've found it quite difficult to be friends with other trans-folks, for these reasons, and political correctness — especially in regards to abortion, for some reason. The LGBT "Community" seems to care more about baby-murder than they do about actual LGBT stuff.

They're just broken people who refuse to sit down, recollect themselves and figure shit out by the day. They just want everything by a fingersnap of a notice.

Most LGBT people are Liberals, and this is how pretty much all Liberals act.

Jokes aside, I've met plenty of trans-folks who act like that. Most LGBT people think supporting each-other means supporting each-other's flaws, which breeds toxicity.

I don't even think they're transgender,

A lot of transgender people are just going through a phase, which is why I've always supported banning SRS for minors (which my home state of Arkansas finally did). I think it should be 25 for bottom surgery, though, since that's, on average, when the brain is fully developed.

On the Internet, a lot of "transgender" people are just doing it for attention or out of some fetish. There's also shills and bots who claim to be trans. Most LGBT people on the Internet are quite toxic, but it gets better in real life.

Because I feel that those that aren't treating transgender and their transitioning as seriously as others, don't deserve to be in that crowd.

That's my opinion, pretty much, which offends both the left and the right (most of my opinions do, to be honest).

I know you don't universally represent all transgendered, nor do you have the power to speak on all of their behalf, but as a member of their community, you and other like minded transgenders (if you know of any) should really, REALLY think about getting together and speaking publicly against the hysteria stemming out of the woke community and the LGBT+ community in general, and the feminists too.

As it stands, they are doing way, WAY more harm to your cause than good, and turning otherwise accepting people like me who didn't give a good god damn what gender you think yourselves or what you do to your bodies into increasingly close-minded folk who are starting to think all the religious gay "slippery slope" arguments of the 90s had a lot of merit to them and that perhaps it was indeed a mistake to be so welcoming and accepting to begin with. Your crazy extremist leftist woke brethren are doing unbelievable damage toward ever achieving any kind of true acceptance, despite what the mainstream media will lead you to believe. You are on a very dangerous path because of these people, and it can turn at any moment. Frankly, I'm surprised it hasn't already.

If you have the means, please speak out against these extremist types and condemn them and their insanity as they rightly should be condemned.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

I've been doing that on the Internet here and there. I posted a rant to YouTube a while back about how they're trying to put black and brown stripes on the rainbow flag to represent non-white people, which is woke and stupid. There's also a version with a hooker symbol on it, which sounds like a right-wing meme, but it was created by leftists, LOL.

[–]Flicksener 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

If I were part of a group that were claiming to speak on my behalf with this nonsense, I'd be furious. I know there are many people in the LGBT+ community who can't stand this crap, maybe even the majority. Why are we letting a minority of screeching idiots dictate the conversation? It's incredibly dangerous, and it only furthers the divide among all of us.

I wish I had an easy solution, but other than telling these people that they don't speak for us and they can go to hell, I can't think of any.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

Yeah, it's insane.

I know there are many people in the LGBT+ community who can't stand this crap, maybe even the majority

So'm similar is the issue of abortion. Publicly, most LGBT people support abortion up to the moment of birth, but in private: I've known many who consider it to be murder — even Libertarians who consider it a violation of their NAP.

The reason for this secrecy is that they fear being ostracized by the "community" after already being ostracized by so many people on account of their queerness. I've said it before: the LGBT "community" has become a cult, where anyone who disagrees with the leadership is shunned.

I, however, refuse to remain silent about my beliefs.

[–]Flicksener 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I have friends who share a similar sentiment. I was scolding one just yesterday for continuing to associate with and pretending to be like these SJW psychos when privately, he's against all of it. It ticks me off to no end. Totally spineless. I don't even know how such people can get up in the morning. I'd rather have no friends at all than associate with people I know are balls deep into this ridiculous, extremist, harmful ideology. In fact, I actually lost many of my friends a little over a year ago because I'd had it with their bullshit and told them so. Several decade plus friendships gone overnight because I dared to question their acceptance of "systemic racism." Fuck them.

We've wondered for nearly a hundred years how dictatorial regimes like the Nazis and the like were allowed to rise and take over and commit atrocities. This is how. We're witnessing firsthand how fucking stupid and conformist and easily manipulated a vast swath of the population can be, holding hands together as they skip merrily along into what will undoubtedly be some kind of oblivion. "Never again" my ass.

I use the word 'broken' to describe the past three people I've had the misfortune of knowing and meeting, who identify as transgender

Transgenderism really should never have gone past being considered a mental illness. We do not indulge in the fantasies of mentally ill people for their benefit in other illnesses. I suspect you're going to find all transgenders "broken" to some extent if you dig enough. Although maybe you could say that of everyone.

Personally I've started to feel more than a little gaslit. It's exactly like a person adamantly insisting their cat be treated as a dog, considered a dog, even though their pet is obviously a cat. I'd feel better about it if transpeople actually wrote like the gender they identify with, but they don't.

Did you ever notice that? It's not perfect, people get it wrong, but when you talk to someone with a gender neutral name online you still get an idea of what gender they are. Men and women tend to write differently, we think differently.

If someone was really a woman born in a man's body, wouldn't they think and act as a woman does? If they don't then they would just prefer to be a different gender. And that's fine, just lets not pretend we can actually do it, and nobody has to play along with that fantasy.

I'm tired of seeing cats bark at me and being told that's totally normal and don't you dare misidentify it as a dog. We can't win trying to find a well behaved cat identified dog, or a unbroken transgender person, we're just indulging in fantasy, one that is inherently sexual at that.

Thats because many are. I believe that the rise in gender dysmorphia over the years are due to our ancestors being poisoned and having damage done to DNA. Take vietnam with agent orange or effects of chemicals from gulf war as examples. Children and grandchildren from those exposed to agent orange have a higher rate of hormone related defects.

By making transgender more of a choice or natural born this way, they are trying to further themselves from any direct consequences of mutating nations.

80% of trans people have a personality disorder. Mostly narcissistic personality disorder.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4301205/

So there's a 20% out there you could possibly get along with. 20% of less than 1% of the population.

If I wore a kilt all the time and shoved my Scottish heritage down everybody's throat all fucking day they would think I was fucking nuts. But wait; here comes tranny to shove their tranny down everybody's throat and we are supposed to accept them. Fuck that.

[–]raven9 3 insightful - 4 fun3 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 4 fun -  (1 child)

I wouldn't. I would just think you are Scottish.

[–]IkeConn 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I'm Southern. My ancestors were Scottish fuckers. I know they were fuckers because I have their name.

If Scotland had voted for Independence I would be Scottish right now.
And by 'Scottish Heritage' I assume you mean playing bag pipes as loud and as often as possible and hitting people over the head with haggis
