So insanely, I am determined to keep a Radical Feminist Sub on /All. (Pray for me)
I am determined to do so because the feedback I've been receiving from many women after the Reddit bans (and regarding their overall experiences on Reddit) were that they are now very reluctant to spend their valuable time engaging with communities where they largely have no control of the narratives and information ultimately being promoted.
That they have grown very tired of taking the time and energy to create interesting, engaging posts only to have them never appear on the sub, or quickly be banned for reasons unknown and never explained.
I am determined to have this sub on /All as a show of good faith to these women. To offer them assurances that if they feel their content is ever unfairly removed that they have an easy to use, fair appeals process (that's not controlled by myself because that's so insane).
Now I know your immediate reflexive thought, everything feminist has to be taken off of /all to keep it from being inundated by trolls and bad faith posters.
So I've decided to combat this in two ways, first, is that this is a Radical Feminist sub, as in a sub for radical feminists, not a sub about radical feminism. I will post a list below of common radical feminist ideology and whilst you by no means need to agree with every point on the list if you're ideologies really don't align with it at all then simply you're just not a radical feminist and whilst there's nothing wrong with that, unfortunately, this just isn't a sub your content is going to fit in well with.
Now I do understand some people are going to be new to radical feminism so the list certainly isn't a static test, nor is it a loophole through which I'm hoping to filter out content I don't agree with however it will be a really good guide for me to use as a litmus test for content so we aren't dealing with dozen of posts about why sexism isn't a real thing and why women are obviously more privileged than men. Because those are so very obviously ideologies not held, by any stretch of the imagination, by radical feminists.
The second part will be a lot of careful, considered moderation by me and some patience and thoughtful, considered participation on your parts; as it becomes very hard to moderate a sub in which everyone is posting insults all of the time.
High-quality content please people, which I am here to support you in creating, so if you need help with something please message me and I'll always endeavor to help.
What Is Radical Feminist Ideology?
Believe that women are oppressed systemically by a patriarchal society.
Believe that society as a whole, across countries, is sexist towards females.
Believe that Males control these sexist societies (that men oppress women)
Believe that women's true freedom can only be found in the wholesale dismantling of these systems.
Are extremely critical of pornography and prostitution, believing women are oppressed not empowered by these industries.
Separatist Radical Feminists believe women need to live completely free of male relationships in order to be truly free from oppression. They are particularly critical of sexual heterosexual relationships.
Are extremely critical of trans ideology and typically reject it completely.
Socialist Radical feminists, identify very closely with Marxist theory and believe women, in particular, are exploited by capitalist systems.
Are critical of surrogacy and other systems that monetize the female body.
Are critical of male feminists as they believe men cannot opt-out of their privilege and therefore have an innate vested interest in keeping oppressive systems in place.
