What's the bandwidth on downloading these images? How long does it take to transfer a megabyte? Do they use jpeg compression?

I'm not rly sure, with analog sstv, its prolly a transfer rate of 15 kbps. DRM sstv is prolly 40 kbps.

Prolly about 40 seconds to 2 minutes depending on the size of the image.

So it's like 56k almost. Interesting. Is it a lossy or lossless transfer?

The quality of the image depends on the quality of the signal.

If your not receiving a good signal from the transmitting station, the image won't come through very good.
