I explain it as our instincts valuing females infinitely more than males. So I think men are actually a lot more depressed, but not allowed to "whine" and get help with it, whereas society rushes to resolve every inconvenience a woman has.

Firstly men do clearly whine but when they do it they act out or get aggressive, as it says in the link.

Secondly you are assuming that depression mostly caused by feeling bad when actually there's a greater link to inflammation in the body and depression than having a miserable existence.

I don't, but then again I'm not sure I count. I also have an extremely strong build (which I absolutely hate, it sucks carrying all that weight around and never being able to relax due to your bone structure, not to mention it's ugly on me because it doesn't suit me at all).

It's probably hardwired brain structure. But the trends are for womens' brains to be happier and mens' brains to be more irritable and unsatisfied.
