For me the most disagreeable are the arrogant assholes.

Agreeability is a personality trait, part of the "Big 5" along with Openness, Conscientiousness, Neuroticism and Extroversion.

I know nothing of the Big Five but is that why I am attracted to neurotic people? If they are not neurotic, they are not interesting.

This explains it: https://www.123test.com/big-five-personality-theory/

Neuroticism is also sometimes called Emotional Stability. This dimension relates to one’s emotional stability and degree of negative emotions. People that score high on neuroticism often experience emotional instability and negative emotions. Traits include being moody and tense.

It sure must suck only being attracted to people who are high on negative emotions. Those rub off on you.

Yes, but people who are neurotic are among the most creative, at least to my mind. Down today but very high the next so no boredom.

That's not neurotic. You're using the wrong word. You mean bipolar, manic-depressive.

I'd bet dimes to dollars you're very high in Openness. If you're easily bored and always want something new, that's a dead giveaway.

Yes, high in Openess but not so many takers recently. Luckily I have one who puts up with me. She was bipolar at one time but seems to have come out of it. She has never admitted to my diagnosis. Do bipolars attract?
