Gee the christian right are pushing the trans thing with the shooting aren't they?

I suppose they know that trans people are killed a lot more often than they kill in the US? Probably due to christian ideology driven hate crimes.

But crudely analysing the murder rate, on average your kids will be safer with a trans storyteller than a cis one. But conservatives in the US aren't for sitting on their hands after a tragedy when they can be out there spreading false narratives to support their bigotry.

pffft

[–]dicknipples 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (25 children)

The proportion of cis mass murderers to trans mass murderers is something like 50,000 to 1.

Edit: what do we have here - a trans teacher of the year?: https://www.hourdetroit.com/education-schools/owen-bondono-michigans-first-transgender-teacher-of-the-year-on-being-the-educator-he-needed/

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (24 children)

that's a different statistic entirely

You may have overlooked the part where he noted:

Focusing instead on:

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Fair enough. It's still a dumbass comparison by ActuallyNot. The risk is something worse than murder.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah. They might have a tolerance for people, and in rare cases, themselves.

And the world would be a less dark place.

But at least murder isn't as bad as that.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (20 children)

No. It refutes the cartoon's thesis by 5,000,000%.

An error even an astrophysicist would baulk at.

Maybe it's a metaphorical/symbolic gun

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

Careless, given the news at the moment, as it would likely be misinterpreted.

What is it a metaphor for?

deadly ideas and degeneracy, of course

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

... What is a deadly idea that a trans person might teach children more than a cis person would?

degeneracy huh?

I've not seen anyone from the Christian right pushing anything

Just normal people noticing that violent rhetoric leads to people being radicalised to violent actions.

Why be decisive?

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They're burning books, they're denying best practise medical care to people with gender dysphoria, and women who are pregnant.

They're removing protections from discrimination for against gays and lesbians. They're trying to turn the US into a Christian country, despite the constitution.

[–]FreakyFalangist 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

You ain't fooling anybody.

The victims have been “overwhelmingly Black, under 35 and killed with a firearm,” the report states.

We all know the reason why black troons get killed at higher rates (they get killed by other blacks)

BASED BLACKS

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

You're saying if a black person kills someone, it doesn't count as murder?

[–]FreakyFalangist 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

trans people are killed a lot more often than they kill in the US? Probably due to christian ideology driven hate crimes

I was refuting this stupid point you tried to argue. It's not due to christian ideology driven hate crimes. It's due to blacks having lower impulse control and being more likely to flat out kill troons, which in a way is sort of based.

Unless you think blacks are just a bunch of fanatical Christians.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

So those trans people were murdered.

That dissolves your point.

[–]dicknipples 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Excellent points. In times of traumatic events, people naturally want quick knee-jerk answers and will focus on the 'other' or what's uncommon when making accusations. Sometimes race, ethnicity, religion, class, mental health &c are blamed. I've not seen, for example, any notes on the problems of Christian charter schools with former students who are willing to murder kids. Whatever the shooter's problems, they were related to her experiences at that school, coupled with the ease with which she could obtain assault weapons.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

what's an assault weapon?

[–]pattis 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Even if assault weapons are banned there will be attacks upon people for example acid attacks where they throw very strong acid into someone's face they take a cup of acid and just walk up and toss it in your face and even if it's only on your face for a couple seconds your eyelids will melt your face will melt you will be scarred for life

Do you know what I can't believe is all these people that go camping up in Yellowstone Park and up in Alaska and they don't even take up 22 pistol with them oh my God and they get eaten alive by bears

[–]Vulptex 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Are you serious? The entire media except maybe Fox News is obsessed with making Christians, white people, men, Republicans, rednecks, and boomers look like Nazi Germany on steroids.

[–]dicknipples 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Perhaps they shouldn't act like Nazis on steroids.

But seriously: responsible news media is not divisive, which is part of the charters of the better news channels. 'Fox News' is officially registered as an entertainment company so that they cannot be blamed for spreading false information (as they do).

And to answer your question: Yes I am serious - no one is questioning the potential problems with Christian charter schools that use our tax dollars to teach the bible to school children, at the expense of facts, history, science &c. What the shooter has done is an Old Testament act: to bring wrath and death upon those she didn't approve of. (I say that as a Christian.)

[–]jet199 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What the shooter has done is an Old Testament act: to bring wrath and death upon those she didn't approve of.

Lol no. She was convinced by overly online troons that she was going to be genocided just because she liked having short had and thought she was not like other girls. Very much like the propaganda the actual nazis used to justify war and genocide.

[–]dicknipples 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

There's no evidence and no pattern of similar activity and not plausible (that trans people feel they'll be genocided because they like short hair).

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

no one is questioning the potential problems with Christian charter schools that use our tax dollars to teach the bible to school children, at the expense of facts, history, science &c.

Sure, that's why schools teach atheism as fact, ban prayer, and fiercly oppose anything coming from Christianity. The Christian nationalists totally control it.

[–]dicknipples 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

schools teach atheism as fact, ...and fiercly oppose anything coming from Christianity.

Not what's in the curriculum, which also reflects the extremely important separation of church and state. Public grade schools have been required to avoid promoting any religion. Under the Trump admin, Davos (corrupt AF) shifted taxpayer money away from public schools to Christian charter schools, thereby breaking the law regarding the separation of church and state. All theocratic governments reduce the quality of life and promote division.

The Christian nationalists totally control it.

You're right, they are trying to take over and purge all the gay and trans prople. It's also largely your radical left's fault, and you guys have also been trying to take over for longer.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

They're trying to purge people, but it's my fault for not trying to purge people?

Is that right?

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

It's the left's fault for basically begging the right to attack them. Everything they did, they did to trigger conservatives. And then they wonder why conservatives hate them more and more.

And then they defended predators and rapists and child molestors for woke points simply because they were gay or trans, and wonder why everyone now thinks gay and trans people are all perverts. BLM burned entire cities to the ground rioting over George Floyd's death, and people wonder why racism is on the rise. At this point it's all black and white. If the left likes something then it MUST be evil and part of a conspiracy to degrade western society. And if the left hates something, it MUST be good and something that would undermine the elites. Because the left embodies evil, and good is everything opposite of that. That's how conservatives now see it. And the fact that the left absolutely refuses to make peace with them doesn't help.

Don't beat a dog and expect it not to bite you.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

It's the left's fault for basically begging the right to attack them.

So not trying to purge people is "basically begging the right to attack me"?

Is that more correct?

Everything they did, they did to trigger conservatives.

No we were just making the world a better and more accepting place. The conservatives were triggered because that didn't appeal to their hate, and there wasn't a sound argument against it.

And then they defended predators and rapists and child molestors for woke points simply because they were gay or trans

No they didn't. That was the church.

BLM burned entire cities to the ground rioting over George Floyd's death, and people wonder why racism is on the rise.

I don't know how you expect people to react when the force their taxes pay for to protect them, crushes the life out of someone over 9 1/2 minutes with impunity, in broad daylight, while the crowd begs them to stop.

But it's not the fault of trans activists.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

The problem with SJWs is that they ruin everything, and nothing is ever good enough for them. We can't just treat people like people regardless of skin color, we have to punish white people for what a few of their great great great great great gandfathers did 200 years ago. We can't just treat men and women equally, we have to destroy all men and let women have their cake and eat it too. We can't just not hate gay and trans people, we have to celebrate them at every moment and worship them as superior in every way, and treat them as if they can do no wrong.

So they destroy everything entertaining because heaven forbid it doesn't have exclusively neon-haired queer black female protagonists. I mean come on, just look at how much of a mess the new Star Wars movies are; it's because they're too busy jamming it full of political messages to appease SJWs, rather than trying to have a good story. The prequels despite having a horrible reputation have mixed reception, but pretty much everyone except SJWs is disappointed with the newer ones. Because they were literally made to pander to SJWs rather than literally all of the fans. But they have to, or the SJWs would have them cancelled and censored. And anyone who dares to disagree will also be cancelled and censored.

But it doesn't just stop there. Gay and trans people can do no wrong apparently, because all problems are the fault of cis white males. So when a gay or trans person acts like a creep, cheats at sports, molests someone, harasses someone, or yes, shoots up a school, the media or at least the SJWs, instead of admitting that there are bad apple gays and trans people just like anyone else, will jump to their defense, claiming it was really the fault of the white cisheteronormative patriarchy somehow. Of course this is going to make gay and trans people look bad, of course it's going to make everyone think they're nothing but a bunch of dangerous perverts; because they see the LGBT community and its leftist allies siding with those people. It's very unfortunate but it shouldn't come as a surprise.

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I mean come on, just look at how much of a mess the new Star Wars movies are;

I didn't see that last one. But apart from being a straight reboot of part 4, part 7 was pretty watchable. Part 8 has slow bits irrelevant to the plot, but neither were as crap as the prequels.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The prequels are good if you're willing to put some effort into understanding them and can go 10 minutes without seeing a lightsaber battle. Anakin may be a whiny brat but they made him that way for a reason (and it's not like Luke wasn't just as bad in part 4). The originals are mostly epic space stuff, and the prequels focus mainly on character development. But the sequels have neither of that. Really the only good things about them are the visual effects and soundtrack. Everything else was sacrificed to jam as much SJW propaganda in as possible. I'll blame Disney for that but apparently George Lucas went SJW too, so it was probably doomed to happen either way. They even removed blasters from all the character posters because SJWs complained that it promotes guns. Watch them change it back now after the trans school shooting, because SJWs will say restricting guns is anti-LGBTQ.

And stop calling it Christian

[–]ActuallyNot 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Homophobia and transphobia are usually Christian in origin in the US. There's no rational reason to hate people for existing.

But Stonetoss is also anti-semetic, white supremacist, and anti-science on climate change and vaccination.

He would call himself a christian. Surely we can too.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

They're not of Christian origin. Their origin is people's deep-rooted fear of those who are different. Because sex is god to so many people, this is really unsettling. And their deepest fears seem confirmed when masses of LGBT activists literally defend homo and trans predation and pedophilia for woke points.

I'm tired of the "pagans welcomed gay and trans people" myth. No the fuck they didn't. They tolerated high-status men topping male slaves, but bottoms and lesbians were most definitely not okay to them. In fact those cultures are where later Christians borrowed the idea that gays are the epitome of evil.

[–]ActuallyNot 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (9 children)

They're not of Christian origin.

They are these days in the US. All the heavily transphobic laws being passed now are due to politicians appealing to a radical christian base.

Their origin is people's deep-rooted fear of those who are different.

Yeah, that's the distal origin. But the proximal source is how Christianity has picked that up and amplified it, and preached that it's the good and ethical way to behave.

And their deepest fears seem confirmed when masses of LGBT activists literally defend homo and trans predation and pedophilia for woke points.

No, that the propaganda produced by the same groups to amplify support for their bigotry.

"Trans predation" is their word for having kids know about transexuality. The true outcomes of this are all good. Kids who are trans have a chance to understand who they are, and kids who aren't have a chance to accept it and not hate and discriminate against those who are.

"Trans pedophilia" is a term to drum up hatred. The reality is that pedophilia is just as rare amongst trans as it is amongst cis. (However it is more common amongst christians than it is amongst atheists: But that's likely cause as well as effect. The church is a good place to hide if your'e a sexual predator).

I'm tired of the "pagans welcomed gay and trans people" myth. No the fuck they didn't. They tolerated high-status men topping male slaves, but bottoms and lesbians were most definitely not okay to them.

Who do you mean by "pagans"?

There's a lot of cultures out there with a wide range of acceptance of gay and trans people. Tongans, for instance, have long had their Fakaleitī.

Christians welcomed gay people well enough at times when hatred wasn't being catered to because of politics. For instance, Frederick the Great of Prussia was well loved by the people (at the end of his life) in a very christian culture.

In fact those cultures are where later Christians borrowed the idea that gays are the epitome of evil.

They're perpetuating it now in the US.

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

It's not from Christianity and is even antithetical to it. The worst gay and trans haters are actually atheist, nihilist, Darwinists. Because to them, eliminating weak and abnormal people is simply fulfilling the process of natural selection.

Not in the US

The worst gay and trans haters are actually atheist, nihilist, Darwinists.

Okay. You know that I'm not going to believe that. Because it's so obviously bullshit, just by looking at anti-gay legislation in the US, and comparing with the bible belt.

But extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. What's your best evidence of that?

Because to them, eliminating weak and abnormal people is simply fulfilling the process of natural selection.

You're slandering atheists. Is it because you know deep down that they're more ethical than Christians?

[–]Vulptex 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (6 children)

There are more anti-gay Christians, but the most violent homophobes are usually Darwinist atheists. Most Christians just don't like gays because they're afraid, they've been told that God really hates gays and that gays are a plot by the devil, and honestly anymore most of it is probably just because it reminds them of the looney left. Pure Darwinists on the other hand see the game of natural selection as the whole meaning of life, so to them the strong have the right and even a duty to eliminate the genetic "failures". They believe in eugenics with no ethical boundaries at all. Not those who merely believe in evolution, but those who make a god out of it and deny that any other meaning or purpose exists. These people tend to be alt-right, and I mean alt-right, not "Oh no an orange man supporter!"
