Well, didn't you guys let your government take over selling it though, and didn't it go from being illegal everywhere in Canada to legal everywhere overnight, where as In America we have been doing that state by state thing?

We already have a well established private market for marijuana, I'm not even sure if any state has state run dispensaries. Given the way things work here, I can tell you people are going to profit big time off of this industry.

It depended on the province. Alberta issued licences to private businesses to open shops and they just wanted to collect the tax from the sales. Ontario, being retarded as we are, went with government run dispensaries for the most part and the end price per gram was way too high and they also had supply issues and problems with product showing up all moldy and rotten... total shit show. But at the end of the day, I don't think our public coffers are richer from legalizing weed.
