That's the thing that always gets me. People act like it's a super dangerous job when in reality it's about average for a blue collar job.

I don't think we should even have paid police. At best a volunteer community force.

There's literally too much police misconduct history for a prudent, and sane society to continue the 'thin blue line' worship.
