Furthermore, HPD has now come out saying that:

"We’re going to be keeping track of all of you, and we’re going to make sure that we hold you accountable every time you stir the pot on our police officers."

WOW. Talk about the slide in to a police state. The normally status-quo people on reddit's /r/Houston are very pissed, and rightly so. Look at some of these threads, the anger is palpable.

The police in Houston are really screwing the pooch here. The way they responded is the absolute worst way they could've handled this. Basically they created an incident, killed 2 normal people for nothing, and then have the audacity to try and tell the people of Houston that they need to calm down as not to cause any problems.

Also their body cams were disabled (which is apparently standard procedure during raids?! The one time you'd want it most...), so it's their word against the word of two dead people.

Unbelievable. I'm glad people are making a fuss, because this stinks to high heaven.

Your worst nightmare. They even killed the dog :( And they want to take our guns, this is a perfect example of the tyrannical government we were given the right to protect ourselves from.

Houston police kill about 250 dogs a year. Then they have a single trial once a year to rule on all 250 at once, and they're always found to be justified shootings (of course). It's super messed up.

250, are you serious? The militarization of the police has been a non-partisan effort.

Yup about 250 a year. Houston is the 3rd largest city in the US though. But still, not OK
