I confess I did call for a welfare check on a neighbor once. Fortunately she was already dead so they didn't need to shoot her. Not sure how I'd handle it if I had it to do over.

Best way to get the cops there quickly is to say "he/she has a gun" or "never mind, they done shot him" or "a blonde white girl is missing". The last one will even bring out the state governor and TV crews.
