What the actual fuck. Why are they going past random houses and shooting at people on their porch? This doesn't restore order, this just reinforces the idea there is a huge police violence problem.

Here's a reddit thread about it for more discussion: https://www.reddit.com/r/Bad_Cop_No_Donut/comments/gts8fh/please_make_this_go_viral_i_am_begging_you_police/

I wonder why don't they go after rioters and looters and instead go after people in their own property? It just says that decent people will now have to protect themselves from two sides.

They are totally trained and capable of assessing real threats--which this lady was clearly not--unless they are hopped up on roids and speed and powertrips, I guess.

It's not good. But how I see it, some people in power want martial law, and it's better to implement the control mechanism of fear, in order to stop this, than to slide down that slipper slope where it will actually take root. Now the question becomes, are they nipping it in the bud? Or is this meant to insight martial law? Sadly I feel that no matter what they try to do to control the chaos, the perception of these actions can be weaponized.
It like holding a paper clip on the blade of the knife, the harder you try to hold it, the more your hand shakes. With that in mind. Do yourself a favor everyone, if the internet is overwhelming you, unplug. Turn off your modem, and leave your phone at home in a drawer. You aren't missing anything important if you shut it down for a day or two.

Why would we go to reddit for more discussion when we are here because of how reddit is in the first place?

[–]magnora7[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Well there's some interesting discussion to read, and there's so many people posting and voting in the thread (at least early on) that it overwhelmed any shill efforts pretty obviously, so it was nice to read for a moment.

I think having the most information available to everyone, is more important than the whole "reddit vs saidit" thing, tbh. They can both be used concurrently, but they each have their strengths and weaknesses

There's muzzle flare so I think it's rubber bullets

Lmao, they're the most aggressive when confronting innocent people. In the city with BLM they just stand there with their heads down...Cowardly job , policing in US

I agree, the fact they are there in the first place is odd. Maybe it's to prevent additional rioters from gathering as they move toward the city center or something. Either way very aggressive in a very odd location

This is terrorism, plain and simple. State sanctioned terrorism.

Yeah the national guard was litearlly right there in the same caravan, yet they didn't stop the police from acting like this. That's tacit approval, where's the accountability?

This is where the antifa kids live. In the basement of their parents upscale homes.

That is just what happens in this type of violent chaos. It's time to go home. If you are in a violent mob and you choose to stay there, stuff like losing an eye can happen any second. Anyone with common sense has left the area way before this happened.

      [–]FormosaOolong 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

This lady was not in "the area". She was standing on her own property, filming the most unusual circumstance of militarized police being terrorists.

For people who don't want to watch the video here is what happens:

There is no gore and no one gets hurt.

But there is a squad of about 10 men in full riot gear running down the street, screaming at people to get back in their houses. The cameraperson and someone near them are on the porch, just watching, not making much noise and not moving. Then one of the police start shooting rubber bullets at them, and they quickly run inside and scream. This is in a suburban neighborhood in Minneapolis, just a few hours ago.

      [–]jamesK_3rd 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Are they soldiers or are they police officers?

      [–]Jesus 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

There are probably presidential policy directives allowing military on US soil. Honestly, the US corp. helped to orchestrate 9/11 so they could give zero shits about anything moral or right.

      [–]jamesK_3rd 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

      It's Police. Tragic.

      [–]magnora7[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Police. It's a patrol with national guard at the front, police in the back. The Minneapolis police in the back are the ones who fired the rubber bullets and were acting crazy. Yet the national guard didn't step in to calm them down either...

      [–]whereswhat 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

      What!?

      [–]BoogerFukker 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (3 children)

this is stupid, national guard tell people to do something and they don't follow orders they gonna respond with force its how they are trained

when the national guard needs to be called in because half a city is being burned don't cry cuz u get shot with a paintball

      [–]magnora7[S] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The police are the ones who did the shooting. The national guard was up ahead in the humvee, and wasn't shooting at people. However they didn't exactly stop the police though...

      [–]Big_Brass_Balls 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

      Why aren't they stopping rioters?

      Dumb asshole.

      [–]H3v8 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I think that generally the police are going after the "easy" targets who won't resist instead of getting endangered fighting the militant rioters.

I would also say that people of authority will prefer this behavior so that they won't jeopardise themselves while still pretending to hold some authority.

      [–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

But they were commanded from a superior to control this area. So why would the leader of the police want to go after easy targets if it's for the reason you say? That's the part I don't get

      [–]H3v8 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

To save face while still avoiding danger I suppose?

I have seen similar riots, and the police just stood aside and let the city burn to avoid conflict.

Multiple "Get inside" warnings .. Ignores warnings .. pop pop pop "God that hurt". Humans are so stupid it's amazing.

      [–]magnora7[S] 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (9 children)

You actually think it's okay that they shoot Americans on their own property, who aren't breaking the curfew law, just because someone barked an order? Wow, sad. Do you know what constitutional rights are?

Also if someone breaks the curfew law, they're supposed to get a ticket according to the law, not shot by a thug. So they broke their own new law, twice. And then you blame the victims and call them stupid? Wow

      [–]jamesK_3rd 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

More than that, i read the curfew order did not apply to private residences. Only to public spaces.

So the people on the porch weren't breaking any rules or the curfew, except social distancing and groups greater than 10.

Get a grip, they were told to get inside and they refused to listen.. I'd say there were three or four of them, all gauping at the police while there's riots going on.

      [–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I think you need to get a grip, you're making excuses for obviously violent and malicious behavior that is against the law, even their own curfew laws.

Does the idea of police misconduct really scare you so badly you have to come up with all these flimsy excuses?

      [–]Red23 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Barking orders at me huh? The hypocrisy.

      [–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

It is, if they shoot you for not obeying, especially when the orders contradict the law just passed...

      [–]Big_Brass_Balls 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

I didn't see any riots in that video.

      [–]Red23 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

      while there's riots going on

      [–]whereswhat 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

What gives them the right to tell someone where to go on their own property?

The cops are displaying emotion-driven tribalistic behavior, obviously. Anyone who acts like that is an embarrassment to our species.

      [–]Red23 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

There's rioting going on, and idiots are gauping on their porches, an embarrassment to our species indeed.

      [–]whereswhat 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

There is rioting going on and these people were not participating. They were on private property.

How can you possibly think this is ok? Are you a cop or something?

      [–]Red23 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'm not a cop, but you're a cop hater. Well, until you need one that is.

      [–]whereswhat 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

My father is a cop. I don't hate him but he acknowledges that even the best police departments have more than a few bad apples. He also could not believe this video.

I actually feel really bad for cops who aren't contributing to the problem. This makes all of their lives more difficult. Doesn't mean we shouldn't do everything in our power to instigate sweeping police reforms though.

      [–]Big_Brass_Balls 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Why weren't those pussy cops going after rioters?

Also, how does shoe polish taste?

      [–]Red23 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

They were, you twat, they were just walking down a street.
And it always makes me laugh when a simpleton like you tries to be funny.. You'd cry out for a cop if you needed their help!
