It seems to me men point to royalty. Those women represent very small percent of women. Here is another article(https://anincorruptiblecrown.wordpress.com/2014/12/04/facts-and-fictions-about-marriage-in-the-16th-century/). What I find interesting is this part in particular :

"For the general public, daughters provided hands on work on their land or in the house. Some were again sent away but to work as servants, not ladies in waiting, and send their earnings back home. As a servant, there was not much time when you weren’t working, so being noticed and proposed to might never happen. It would have been necessary to keep working to support yourself. This led to a proportion of the female population never marrying."

Its interesting how we are allowed to assume to have it pushed to us these women not marrying was very rare. I'm not saying we should go off of entertainment. That's why I want to read women real history to get real truth so can't be lied to. Want all women to do same thing. I think they know some people will assume certain things so they push it through entertainment as well. I don't remember women who were servants having a lot of stories where they were single. I'm not saying we should glorify their life. They had to work extremely hard for very little pay. Its very sneaky to let population assume to push agenda women being single was very rare.
