It is because men don’t see women as fully human. They think they are entitled to our bodies, our labour and our time. We are supposed to be grateful for their attention, whether we welcome it or not. Feminism allows us to raise our heads, to be visible, to demand better. Feminism upsets patriarchal systems of privilege and will only be tolerated to the degree it benefits males (think the proliferation of lib feminist views dominating our culture). Radical feminism prioritizes women which, of course, is inherently threatening to them because, if such ideas took root they might find themselves actually having to concern themselves with our needs, our rights.
