Romantic love has been recognized by a bunch of historians, sociologists and psychologists to be a recent product of the 21st century.Before that it was all mask-off and marriage meant full control and submissiveness from wife to said husband. Modern western women changing their name because they love their spouse is the stupidest thing ever, why doesn't he change his name, doesn't he love you? "Well his name sounds better!" Really? So the fact that "His nAmE sOuDds beTtEr" is so important to these women that they don't give a crap this tradition is an appendix of the times where women were like personal animals of their husband with 0 rights, women were forced to change their name to that of their husband because they weren't recognized as a distinct human since the moment they got married. But if "his names sounds better sweetie", how come 97% of men don't change their name, do all women's maiden names have bad phonetics? Or it's because for men the lovey-dovey front is a facade and they think just as the men that lived centuries ago. Women have rights because women fight for those rights every day, if it was for men they'd happily go back to how things were in previous centuries because their minds and view on women haven't changed but this they can only admit to themselves.
