Interesting, so you could use nonlinear optics to create an analog processor. "For optical logic to be competitive beyond a few niche applications, major breakthroughs in non-linear optical device technology would be required, or perhaps a change in the nature of computing itself."

    complex, quick computational problems that today's electronic computational platforms can't manage effectively or as well in a similar amount of time.

    Well yeah, it would be an analog computer and that has a number of advantages such as solving matrixes quickly.
