Interesting part about this is that in order to reconcile spooky action at a distance with special relativity, you need new theories of space time structure.

Spacetime is not smooth :D

this is a load of shite. the only things that exhibit gravity are liquids. is that really absurd for the universe to have an awareness of which elemental state every molecule is in? nope. only liquids can produce electromagnetism.

Cavendish's balls say otherwise.

only liquids can produce electromagnetism

NdFeB says "gtfooh"

I think you are referring to an Aether theory?
Feel free to talk about it, but keep the discussions friendly if you can.

What you could say: "From the perspective of the super-liquid aether theory, special relativity is wrong, and spooky action at a distance is just a wave in the super-liquid."

super-liquid aether is a long way from 'liquids'.

Would be good to know what he's actually talking about, though. I mean, I used to play with 5T magentic fields built using helium cooled superconduting coils at about 5 kelvin, and the only liquids down there were the helium...

I know a lot of people with Aether theories, because I like to explore alternatives, and the problem is that they all differ immensely. And are used in different ways to explain things.
There are even multi-dimensional Aether theories that get a lot closer to relativity.

5T? that sounds like a MRI scanner.

yes, early research.

I like aether theories, tbh. Lots of the problems with gravity seem to resolve if you allow G variance by 'height'

1mm, that's a LARGE object. Penrose's theories on quantum consciousness don't look so silly 20 years later. At that level of scale, you could be shifting thousands of neurotransmitters. Telepathy - mechanism provided.
