Whenever the public good (forests, land, environment, etc.) can buffer negligence, THERE WILL BE NEGLIGENCE in favor of profits.

This reminds me of a scandal of a Canadian toxic waste disposal company called, IIRC, Laidlaw, which instead of properly disposing of the toxic waste they got paid to manage, drove into the forest to lands bordering the US and just sprayed this unbelievable crap into nature. Profit. That was back in the 1990s. Just as another example.

And this is why corporations as legal persons should not exist and it's also why the current form of capitalism is doomed.

That includes the military, that just dumps waste in the environment (I saw reports from the foreign places where they do it).
