PhoenixForum

We need to evolve.

To survive, thrive, and be free from the tyrannical technocracy we must have goals, plans, and a resilient future for our SaidIt and truth-seeking communities.

/s/PhoenixForum is for developing our next-generation forum's ideals, form, and functions - not be confused with /s/Cassy for discussing decentralized forum options, federation vs distribution, and planning our community's next steps beyond SaidIt.

We must discuss and simultaneously co-develop some interrelated main topics:

Fair Forums

SaidIts existing minimal rules and Pyramid Of Debate are a great start. Next-gen forums also need new decentralized social-management systems so that communities may be self-regulating, fair, transparent, and accountable. This includes establishing some commonly agreed upon goals in a manifesto, minimal but expanded clear terms and rules with guides and example cases, and clearly outlined systems of regulation for how trusted-teams will manage consistently and reliably with community assistance.

Security

Users value access, anonymity, security, defense against STABs (shlls, trolls, and bots), backups, decentralizing and federating and distributing, and other issues.

Migration

SaidIt is based on old-Reddit code and without a wide code base of developers or a team, this forum will die one way or another sooner or later as all things do. We must consider migrating to an open-source, decentralized, and federated platform like Lemmy.

We must also consider evolving beyond the current limitations of SaidIt or Lemmy to a robust next-generation forum - by first dreaming and realizing what we need and/or want.

GUI + PreVisualization

Whether for SaidIt, Lemmy, or future forums, the GUI must evolve in purpose, ergonomic flow, functionality, and design forms, including several modes (dark/light, normal/impaired, PC/mobile, themes, etc).

What can be imagined can be illustrated and/or animated to communicate concepts and how things might hypothetically operate.

An illustrated imaginary forum that's motivating enough may inspire folks to actually build it. Faking it with 2D pixels first might conserve efforts in R&D coding a functional architecture.

Software Development

The magic users don't see: coding the back end.

Libre-Manifestos

Included with many other issues in a wider Libre-Manifestos project, these outlines should clearly explain the liberty-based core fundamentals, goals, and objectives these next-gen forums aspire to. In moments of doubt or crisis, these will be the founding documents to keep us on course.

Project Management

Among other things, project management would include monitoring, public relations, social media representation, support, branding, merch, resources, and all forum project management. An open-source crowd-sourced worker coop model should be developed transparently. They should also be vigilant of subversion, infiltration, impostors, illegitimate, and/or unauthorized activity.

MetaVote™

MetaVote™ is a revolutionary simple new GUI interface and qualitative way of organizing data with greater purpose and superior utility. Among many other uses, it would replace forum voting and subs/categories/metatags. This interface will be vastly superior to the low-information up/down vote and takes meta-tags into entirely new dimensions. The BIG surprise is how effectively simple while informative it could be. This simple GUI interface could be applied to MANY more things beyond just forums.

The introductory first post provides a little more information.

We hope SaidIt, other forums, and developers might freely chime in and/or adopt some of these open good ideas from these wishful discussions to improve life and liberty and fairness.
