Nice. There is definitely some oil field deserts in Texas, I've been to them. I mostly live in the city though.
That's awesome you're in to Taoism, I am a big fan of Taoism too. The Tao Te Ching is a great book, much wisdom in very few words

a vew words yep, that what i like about Taoism as well,Short Powerfull and to the point, in budism its always long writings and also in Confusism(imo Confusius just stole Lao Tse words and made longer sentences of it). PS. the Tao Te Ching has WRONG translations, fisrt there was a German who Translated the Chinese stuf into German and then some1 Translated that German into the Tao The Ching in English and thats why some translation are wrong/VERY wrong. There is a good book writen by a Chinese Professor who lived/grow up in China and studied Taoism many years, but later moved to the USA. In this book there are good translations, also info of what and why is wrong in the Tao Te Ching and explenations about Ying and Yang and many other stuf, in case your interested https://www.amazon.com/Essentials-Yi-Jing-Chung-Wu/dp/1557788278

I read contents of that book before(Almost evenyone from Taiwan/Hong Kong/China read a part of it)... The problem of almost all books from ancient China used "very few words". I don't believe any true wisdom can be written by "very few words",the real world is complexity theory. Since the ambiguous 道德經 ,they create so many cults by it.
道德經 was advanced at the time it published ,but now, many cults in China love to quote it.
