I wanted to comment based off the title alone, before reading(will read afterwards, and amend, or post). The premise of this alone gets me thinking, especially when there are so many that cling to, or go "PC", or "SJW" for 'their' arguments. It always becomes a circle jerk.

The good thing though, with the continual overreaching usage of: 'you're a racist', 'you're an antisemite', 'you're a bigot', 'you're a nazi', et el, it just has less, and less reach. People realize they're going to be labeled no matter what, so accept it knowing it's not true. This(PC demonizing) is an inferior strategy, where by, the shock value of what used to be seldom used horrible terms, is just 'hey dude' anymore.

We can never control the hearts, and minds of anyone else; free will, and even true will, life experiences, and more go into shaping us individually, and by group. Yet, in our modern world, this is what we try to change, and sanitize; it's the impenetrable wall, meets the unstoppable force..... Just creates heartache, unhappiness, and I think most agree that chaos could be on the horizon.

Why not just embrace, and recognize that everyone is different, that groups are different, and work around this instead of changing what makes up, and how people think?

Our colloquial sayings, which I love using are usually showing that sometimes, and in my view always, you just gotta accept things for the way they are, then deal with the the future.

Ramble off.

EDIT TO ADD: Okay, sitting down for my 2 hour listen; on the note of 'debates', and conduct, the only rule I try to entertain is general respect. I view it as a vehicle with which to go through, and conduct life; it keeps friends happy, and should take a degree of anger away from any fri'enemies.

EDITED: Okay, made it through enough of it, I think people should debate on a level where they're responsible for their own faux pas; if someone offends you, or angers you, then ask yourself why? Taboos are a deep rooted 'thing to most', just today, a lady couldn't tell me how much to pay, because the bill was $6.66. We need to swallow our comfort pill, and re-establish baselines.

I think we're missing them; without'em, everything taboo will end any debate based off of silly superfluous non issues.
