You don't want to be accused of murder. The lawyer and bail will be that much more expensive and "day in court" is a joke -- you mean plea agreement because the normal American can't afford an unexpected $500 bill, they sure as shit can't afford to defend against a murder charge.

And if you're dumb enough to go to trial, you're going to be rail roaded for murder if you can't afford an effective defense.
