Both the Ukrainian President and Prime Minister are jewish and far right parties got less than 3% of the vote in elections.

The President is a comedian who played that part in a tv show so people voted for him for real. Not an uncommon occurrence in the second world but not all at the type of person the West would pick. He's now fighting to the death in Kiev like some medieval duke. Again not uncommon for politicans in Eastern Europe to be able to turn on that side of themselves when the need comes but he's no weak puppet like your Trudeaus or Bidens.

Putin has openly said over and over that he thinks the Ukraine should not exist as a country and that the land belongs to Russia. Why people in the West feel the need to make up other reasons when he has clearly stated why he is doing it, I don't know.

Also not happening for most people on Reddit. We're reading about ways of supporting Ukraine - in a variety of ways. This cannot be simplified into saberrattling. Putin - against the wishes of many Russians - invaded a country or the sole purpose of taking over the leadership, at any cost.

In a global context and economy, democratic countries like Ukraine are the same as us, have their families in our countries, live next to our families, are part of Europe &c. Kiev has a population of almost 3 million. 600 Nazis, funded in part by countries that include the US are NOT "installed" by the US.
