Why not put one of your batteries and 100w panels down by the creek and run a 12v pump off that? Doesnt need to be powered from your house then. You can then just run a signal wire down to a relay to turn the pump on/off from the house.

That's a strong possibility and it was on my list of things to try out. Most of the property is thickly wooded and I'd have to find a spot that gets some sun, but it would certainly work.
