Yeah and putting a sunshield in place could also do the same and it's way more doable than shifting the earth's orbit. What sort of idiot makes such obvious and obviously impossible statements?

I saw that Futurama episode. The sun shield got hit by a meteorite and didn't work. So they just ended up moving the planet anyway.
